Quote by TinbadDo we get extra points for
it being original?
There is a special award for originality. And after all isn't originality an
"artists" main purpose? Even if it's expressed through technique or
ideea. So no matter how you look at it, be it in concept or presentation it will
be a plus.
Please mark my words, fan art can be
original! A different surprising approach on a well known pair or a newly
created pair using charcters from an existing manga or anime can result in
wonderful doujinshi ( but I do belive you all know that).
Set your immagination free or chose just to take this as an exercise to improve
your skills..........whatever you choose will be judged as objectively as
possible.
PS: In case somebody intends to flame me for beeing a judge and a "smart
ass" you'll get a chance cause I will be posting something related to the
chalange theme that will not enter the contest but will be open to critique XP
sorry, rikimaru posted in my guestbook ages ago... i sorta forgot. anyway i'd
like to join. although i have to say the color scheme is making my eyes bleed
here.
I found several definitions for this word but as far as my knoledge goes the one
below is the closest to what I also know the word "doujinshi" applies
to:
DÅjinshi (å人èª; often romanized as
doujinshi) are self-published Japanese works, including but not limited to comic
books (manga), novels, fan guides, art collections, and games, though this term
usually refers to manga and novels only. They are often drawn by amateurs, but
some professional artists participate as a way to publish material outside the
regular publishing industry. The term is derived from dÅjin
(å人), meaning "literary group",
"coterie", or "clique", and shi (èª) which
means "magazine" or "distribution". Groups of
dÅjinshi artists refer to themselves as a circle.
DÅjinshi are made by artists or writers who prefer to publish their own
materials. Avid fans of dÅjinshi attend regular dÅjinshi
conventions, the largest of which is called Comiket (short for "Comic
Market") held in the summer and winter in Tokyo's Big Sight. Here, over 20
acres of dÅjinshi are bought, sold, and traded by attendees.
DÅjinshi creators who based their materials on other creators' works
normally publish in small numbers to maintain a low profile from litigation.
@ johan : doujinshi (in MT definition) is art that you draw by hand, using any
medium such as pencils, pens, and any technique such as watercolor, painting and
such.
So it does not include vectors nor characters made via informatic tools.
Anjhi-kun is right. ( He is an administrator and we are "always right"
XP)
Ok now, I'll get serious. You can submit whatever you want either it's black and
white or coloured ( or mixed like I always like to do )
just keep in mind that you are allowed only one hand drawing and one CG ( that
beeing a total of 2 submisions maximum - one / cathegory)
Thank you to all of you who have posted already in the contest gallery. You're
works are GREAT. I knew all of you are tallented individuals but I for one was
O_O with each new entry.
Now I find myself waiting imppatiantely for the next entries just to see what
other wonderful surprises will come from the members of this group.

I hope it's not rude that I ask for my drawing to be submitted from here to the challenge.

Hope it's also not an eye sore too.
@ DarkIngram : the rule doesn't make any particular recommendation on that point, so it can be either colored or black and white i believe ^_^...
