>D Interesting discussion. Hmm, well, here's my slightly incoherent two
cents. I think lately there's been lots of changes in the walling communities
that at the bottom of it serves to enforce a sense of elitism, which I
personally think is completely stupid, unnecessary, and not at all constructive.
Now what that has to do with Simple-ism, well... I've always liked how this was
a space where people can freely nominate and vote walls that they think are good
and/or could get a little more love into the featured gallery... one of the ways
to be really constructive and supportive, without a lot of the nasty negative
stuff that often comes with overcompetition. And, just as people have different
tastes in different walls, it makes sense that people's definition of simple
would be somewhat different too.
I've definitely looked at the featured gallery before and thought hmmm... but in
the end I think I wouldn't mind a couple relatively less "simple" but
still really good walls creeping in now again just because of the way the voting
process works - being open to everyone and their choices.
Now that's just my two cents :3 I think we could all definitely keep the
"simple" thing in mind a bit more when nominating and voting walls in.
And if you guys have more specific ideas about redefining simplicity from the
really vague description that's up - please jump in lol xD
hi, um i just wanna say i kinda agree on candy-chan's opinion
tate's and rythem's wallie are really really good i must say but maybe they're
not too simplistic, but i don't actually mind that they're featured in the
simple-ism gallery.
Disagree'd.
If anything, I believe we should be seeing more wallpapers like them two. These
'vector in the center, and nothing else' wallpapers are starting to get old. And
as more and more people start to do it, the quality seems to be sinking, which
is what this group was about to begin with; Quality. They more then deserve to
be on the list, in my opinion, more then the others
there.
I see a flaming discussion ahread >D let's keep this friendly at the same
time allright?
I think you're forgetting what the meaning of this group is. Like I just said
these two wallpapers ( to keep the same examples) are everything but simple-ism
wallpapers. Tate's wall could even be called busy. Look at the number of
elements and composition. I'm not asking for more vector and plain bg
wallpapers, but for less of those,
hah!
Who's flaming? I'm just expressing my opinion on the matter.
As for Tate's wall. Well, your definition of simple-ism is clearly different
from mine. Having a stock photo of a street doesn't necessarily make it a 'busy'
wallpaper. The monotone colours help in that matter. For me, SharinganKnights
wall probably gives off a more 'complicated' look. But thats just me. Besides,
take a moment to compare them both to the standard wallpaper submitted on this
site, and then say that they don't deserve to be there.
examples: tate and rythem's walls are both really nice, and I'm glad theyre
getting attention but none of them use negative space. It's not because it looks
clean that it's simple lol
what do you think?

I suggest we redefine what simple-ism is and what kinds of wallpapers we should
nominate and vote for in this group. Not that I'm questionning the quality of
them, as I think this is one of the few groups in MT with good taste but I'm
finding fewer true simple walls in the
featured section lately.
