I do so too, and I find it rather uplifting at times, it's my main source of encouragement, and seeing people like you, who are really entusiastic for God, really does go a long way to make me feel that being a Christian is the best thing to be. And I like your attitude, helping others in their downtimes, if you ask me, the world needs more people like you.. ^^ .. Well, I hope to see you around more.. hope you'll have fun here.. ^^

Quote by EC6456Did any of you do anything for national day of prayer yesterday? Our community didn't, and I wish we had. What did you do?

My school held a prayer time out by the flagpoles before school started. It's always cool to see how many people come, and to see them united in one purpose: praying for our school, our state, and our nation. :)

Other than that, I didn't really do anything special...my church had a prayer meeting last night, but I couldn't go to that 'cause I had a school sporting event that I had to participate in.

Anyone else do anything fun, special, or in remembrance of the National Day of Prayer?

Hello! :D May I join here... :D

At long last, I'm able to visit again! ^^ Been having clinical internship as a physical therapist for April-May at a children's hospital...lotsa reports, patients to handle and all...it's hard work (very hard work) but strangely very, very fulfilling, even though you're all battered and worn at the end of the day! Hehe...guess that's how you find out whether you're on the right track in life or not...
Which reminds me...belated Happy Easter to all! ^^
Anyways, I hope you're all having a nice day. ^^
And congratulations on your job, Carmen! ^^ I know how it feels to be working...haha. ^^ I really miss students' summer break! ^^

Carmen,

I just wanted to wish you all the best on your new job! That's exciting!

Quote by alexjohnc3Hello, I was just wondering why this group was in Regional and not Miscellaneous?

Because, we're not from just one country! I mean Christians are spread all over the world. You must mean "Religion" o_0 o_0 ^_^'

Quote by CarmenOh... Is really a long time since I wrote anything here, but I want to say that I have a huge reason to say: Thank you God!.... I finally have a job (well, I have a job since march 13th, but only today I have enogh time to write).
And because I have a job, I can't enter Minitokyo daily, as before, but once or twice a week, but I am happy. Now I will be able to help my parents and serve God in another place than my home!
I want to share my happines with you :)
God bless you all!

Many congratulations Carmen.. Meh feels happy when someone else is happy.. ^^ .. Wish you all the best in your new job, hope everything goes well for you.. May God continue to bless you even more as you serve him in your new workplace.. ^^ .. Once again all the best, and I hope you find this job considerably enjoyable too.. ^^..

Quote by vatican92I've got a question.
I heard that it was illegal to say Merry Christmas in US.
Wazzup with that? Is that really democracy?

That's a good question, vatican92. It's not actually illegal to say "Merry Christmas" here in the US...it is, however, considered politically incorrect to say. It's classified as such because it isn't the only holiday that time of year (Christmas, Hanukah, New Years, etc.), and it's more affiliated to Christianity, even though the media and most everyone else has managed to turn it into another over-commercialized secular holiday. Therefore, it can be "offensive" to those who hold to a different faith, or don't believe in God at all.

For example, you know how during that season instead of hearing the usual "Have a nice day!" when you're in a store, you'll hear "Merry Christmas"? Well, now the cashiers and workers have been instricted to say a more ambiguous response, "Happy holidays." So it's not illegal, just politically incorrect, which a lot of Americans care about, I guess.

Now, I've never been one to care about political correctness, so it doesn't affect me much, though it is sad not to hear it as often. I still say "Merry Christmas," and I know the real meaning behind it. If I can, I'll get the person I'm talking with to say the same, but whatever.

Okay, that was a seriously long-winded answer...sorry, vatican; I hope it makes more sense now. Well, as much sense as it can make, I suppose...

I think it has more to do with some Americans being sue-happy. That is; there is a strong potential for a random individual in the US to sue any major corporation for religious discrimination, based solely on the fact they said "Merry Christmas" instead of a gender-neutral "Happy holidays". ...Sigh... Not that there was actually anything wrong with "Merry Christmas" to begin with.

...But no company is willing to risk the legal fees and potential settlement/unfavorable judgement just so their employees can say "Merry Christmas". ...One of the least appealing part of being in a literate, financially wealthy, free nation. :( ...Definitely beats being forced to believe any one particular religion though. ...And I do think the phrase "Merry Christmas" should be legally considered what it is. ...A friendly salutation.

...Nonsense lawsuits are a drag on the whole of the USA.

Just stopping by...

hi everyone! ^_^ i hope you dont mind if i join?

Hello,...i'm kinda new here. So, am i welcomed? :)

JUst stopping by..

hi!
im new :pacman:

Yeah, this may sound a little cliche, but people really need to think 'what would Jesus do'. We are supposed to be the body of Christ, but I know that Jesus would never turn a person away.

That's very sad.. a church shouldn't discriminate against people by their past.. Let's face it, nobody has a perfect past, so we shouldn't judge people by their past or turn them away just because they're different.. And what you said is very true, churches should be more accepting of different people, not necessarily approving nor condemning their lifestyle, but should serve as a guide to ALL people so that they may get closer to God. The world is changing rapidly and there are many many more types of people now than ever, unless the church is more open and tolerent, it'll be very hard for them to know the truth and to draw closer to Him. I mean, if we turn away everyone who we deem wrong or unacceptable, then who is to tell them what is truly right? In the end they'll never realise what they do is wrong and continue their ways. And before we simply judge people because of their circumstances, the church should be more understanding and know what is really behind it before condemning them... >.> .. but ultimately the church should know what is right and what is wrong.. not simply doing things according to their feelings.. i mean the bible is there for a reason.. refer to it! huh... well this is my opinion... >.< ...
