My Otome DVD omake special #4 (raw version) is out. Its a Shiho special, so of course its all comedy. Basically, it shows the little troublemaker was not just sitting around in a tent during the Coral's survival test. Since she was not thrill to be left behind to watch over the main camp, she turns to her maki maki voodoo thing and we all know what she uses it for. ^_^'

And heres a blog site where somebody is making fun of Shiho's makimaki weirdness based on ep 21. I had a good laugh out of it. :D

Welcome to the group gaidin!
So you're a Miyu fan? I like her too, though I like her role much better in My Otome. She seems undefeatable and pulls quite a few amazing moves that proves how strong and agile she really is.

Yo!
I'd love to join the Mai-HiME fan group! :)
My favorite character is probably Miyu (both in HiME and Otome though she had far too little screen time in Mai Otome) since she pretty much can't be beat and isn't bogged down with all the drama. I can't get enough of the the OSTs for both series either...so here I am!

i heard the OVA itself will focusing on the past, sure fun to see what mai and natsuki is doing when they're still an coral otome.

and yes i agree the manga version is more detailed in storytelling, but damn my connection speed is just soooo sloww.. the download took forever -_-
well, each manga and anime version certainly have their own charm

*spoiler?*
anyway, the last 4 episode is the best IMO.. lots of battles between all the otomes, though i can't see many of them engage in more intense/close up battle like one on one fight.. personally i wish to see more underappreciate character like Ein, Rosaly, etc have more room for their roles, but yeah i guess that's that... i can't even see rosaly's robe in detail! everything too darn fast..

best scene ever: when arika destroyed the breeder tank containing rena, so touching and depressing... overflowing with tears i tell you *sniff*

worst scene ever: sergey still alive, damn it.. (c'mon nina, shake him off from your life already)

oops too many babbling, i'm off

Quote by blackchiii know it's late but finally i've watched mai otome's ending and can't say i like it (that damn sergey is not dead yet.. heh heh) and thought i can see mai in more action *sigh*
i think i need to read the manga since i think the anime version is a little bit rushed

Though I agreed the final episode seemed rushed, I'm glad it did not take the enjoyment I have for the entire series. I believe they did a good job handlng the Arika's, Nina's and Mashiro's endings. We get the idea of what their future will lead them to.

I recommend the My Otome manga. (Currently, up to ch 11 is scanlated) I feel it has much more of a dramatic storyline than the anime and there are quite a few twists here and there that may (or may not) make you eager for the next chapters. Judging from scans of the most recent chapters (now up to ch35) and their brief summaries I"ve been keeping up with, the story continues to kick ass and bringing in a few surprises like this one:

Ch35 Page 20 (Natsuki fans will probably like this one)
Image contains a MAJOR SPOILER.

Like the anime was hinting on their own, I see (manga) Hime references that may actually be a real connection to the the manga Otome world. Or it could be just the writer recycling Hime elements into the Otome manga. ~_~

Quote by XTeKRead Mai Otome 11 a little while ago. The story gets really interesting with a little Nina surprise at the end.

*looks at the Nina surpise at the end.*
I think I prefer the Nina's anime version for now.

I got my copy of the official US version of My Hime DVD Collector's ED today and I was most curious about how well the english dubbing was. It wasn't so bad. Most of the voices go well with the characters, and some got me in need of ear plugs. I been so used to the japanese version that it took me 3 episodes to get used to the new voices. Here are sample audio clips from ep 1 that I found at the AnimeOnDVD forums posted by B-Rad Lascelle.

Clip 2 - After CPR scene - http://www.dubawards.com/myhimeclip2.mp3

Clip 4 - Natsuki vs Mikoto aboard the ship - http://www.dubawards.com/myhimeclip5.mp3

Collector's edition comes with a black Fuka Academy T-shirt. Though it was a nice addition, its not something I plan to wear around town. Not much special features in this DVD other than the first 4 omakes where one comes right after each episode. Other extras is a short promo clip, 3 Trailers featuring other series, and a credits list.

I got my copy in the mail the other day. I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD yet though. I thought the t-shirt was a nice addition too. I'll probably wear it to some anime-related events in the near future like club meetings or a convention.

Quote by UltraMarineStatic-subs version of ep 26 is out for My Otome. Like they promised, they added a special bonus at the end. Its info on the Otome characters and the meaning of their gems. It was interesting to know that the gems they wear reflect their personalities and life roles.

Really? Man... now I'm wishing that my cousin had waited to get that version... It would be interesting to see how the gems related to the Otome! :(

And the official site has updated their page with new character updates, merchandise goods, etc.

The most interesting to me are the 5 Columns. You can see the Roman numerals on their meister outfits. For some reason, I always thoughts Nao would be #5. She's actually #4.

hahas srry bout that im kinda clumsy x]
well thx for the add ^_^

Welcome to our two newest members: MegasXLR15 and jpanamaneechot1!

Quote by XTeK 'Mezame' and 'Kokuyou no Kimi ~Amai Yuuwaku~' are like my two favorites from the hime osts, and 'Chiisana Hoshi ga Oriru Toki' (on the 'Shining Days' OP) is my favorite song played in the series.

I'd definitely agree with you there! "Mezame" is my favorite song from the Mai HiME OST, followed closely by "Mata Aou Ne" and "Tokiiro No Mai".

Ah, I'd love to join this group too! X3
My favorite Mai HiME character is Natsuki (ShizNat is <3) and my favorite Mai Otome character is Nina. Dozo yoroshiku onegai shimasu!

hey!
just wonderin if i can join the club x]
my fav character is Midori Sugiura ^_^
hahas thx

I don't really know why but 'Otome no Komoriuta' seems to be my favorite from the Otome osts. I listen to alot more than I've really noticed. My second fav. is 'Shukuteki' followed by 'Materialize.' Personally I liked the HiME osts more. 'Mezame' and 'Kokuyou no Kimi ~Amai Yuuwaku~' are like my two favorites from the hime osts, and 'Chiisana Hoshi ga Oriru Toki' (on the 'Shining Days' OP) is my favorite song played in the series.

"Sei Otome no Inori" is one of my top 3 favorite tracks from the 2 OSTs. ("Materialize" is #1). I had wished the series played that song more often. I think they used it only 2 times.
"Makenai Kokoro - Orenai Tsubasa" somewhat reminds me more of Lord of the Rings. To me, that track has that "epic" feeling to my ears.

I just got the Mai Otome OST... Yuki Kajiura is a musical genius! My favorite tracks would definitely have to be "Mai" and "Sei Otome no Inori"!

Lol, and is it just me or do the first 3 or so notes of "Makenai Kokoro - Orenai Tsubasa" remind anyone of Harry Potter? X-P

Speaking of situations... the "controversial" scene between Nina and Sergey-- actually wasn't as bad as I was led to believe from reading other threads on the topic.

With the rest of that scene going offscreen, Sunrise ended up stringing most of us along to believe the obvious. Then, they waited til the last episode to reveal the outcome. The creators seem to love messing with our heads. >.< I'm still wondering about what Shiruru was really doing with Tomoe while locked up in the room. ~_~

Okay, I may be late, but oh wells. I finally got caught up ad finished the anime. I actually didn't find the ending all that bad... It just felt a tad rushed... A much better ending than Mai HiME though (imho). Hopefully the OVAs will clear up/clarify some of the situations...

Ending recap: after seeing the whole thing... Midori remained as one of my favorite characters... I nope that one of the OVAs talks about the history of Aswad!

The original PS2 game is probably hard to find now, but a greatest hit version is easier to find.

There is also going to be a PC Windows version coming out this summer for Japan. There would be some new CG art and additional characters added in.

Quote by blackchiihmmm a kinda late question, but how about the mai hime in PS2? any good? i'm thinking to get one but it seems already pretty rare

Yeah, i heard it's very good, with a cute original character. But the game is like a rpg, so if you don't speak japanese, it's kinda impossible to understand the game... :(

Quote by UltraMarineI read up some fan reaction to the game. I hear the battles are so-so and bland though the mini games are the highlight of the game. I don't have a PSP yet, but if I hear good things about the sequel, I just might consider getting a PSP alot sooner than I intend to.

The best mini games in this first ep is the "Do Natsuki make sexy poses to stop a car" XD XD (and there's also a ddr-like ^^)

I don't know if you know that, but a Mai HiME game is out for the psp too :D

It's called "Mai HiME Bakuretsu!", it's a 3d fighting game featuring 8 characters (Mai, Mikoto, Natsuki, Midori, Akane, Akira, Nao and Miyu). The game follows the anime, and there are lot of scene from the anime. I've ordered it :D (and a sequel is coming end of this month with the others HiME)
