Maybe some of you heard about the W.A.R. competition last fall, it was mostly
for walls, I was thinking this year IF it happened (still kinda tentative) would
it be nice to include a competition for doujinshi artists Any sort of feedback would be great... if this sounds like a good idea, crap
idea, etc.
Just send a PM to OracleAngel and Osiris (the 2 mods in charge of the doujinshi
gallery) to ask them if bg / sceneries / landscapes without anime related
character in them should be submitted in the doujinshi gallery or in the
abstract art gallery.... just to prepare the field for the contest this summer
Yeah the idea is great to make a landscape because usually everyone makes anime
characters and it would be better for everybody to make soem original ones
too^_^!

Yeah, that's still acceptable. ^^ But of course everyone prefer new stuffs. But
likewise, you can still send old works' link, just make sure they're not too old
though. (probably something submitted few months ago)

About the scenery contest, it will of course not be held anytime soon, because
everyone has exams... it should be done during the summer holidays.... so maybe
from july to end of august or something... but i was throwing an idea to see if
ppl were interested ...

course. Once we've reached the deadline and when Anj announced that the voting
has begun, then display for that certain period will end. But if you still wanna
submit for the display, we'll automatically put it into the next month's
display. That way, the voting process will be easier and of course, we'll have
at least something read when we first begin the next month's display; it won't
be empty~ ^^

Throwing my two cents in... I think it would be awesome to do a background
contest! (landscapes/scenic are actually my favorites... but I haven't done them
in awhile!)

like to be here with my friend Veronika and to speak a lot with her so that
kinda leaves me not time.I even imagien when my best friend will join it will be
the 3 of us girl power^_^...because I want Veronika also to meet my best
friend(my mommy like I call her)!

Nice idea Anjii-san! the
truth is that almost all drawings here focus on the character and it's not usual
to see the background. It's a good idea for a contest, but of course all depends
on the participation, because maybe people are just not interested in drawing
backgrounds/scenaries. And for some people (i.e: me )
drawing backgrounds is more difficult than drawing characters. So, people, say
what you think!
@ Frosty-kun: don't worry Frosty I'm sure you'll draw something great for the
next display
@ sandumirabela: Oh we do see you! see *waves profusely at sandi* ^_^ nya~ it
would be great if you could participate on the background contest, I'm sure you

also my house ifs full of paintings...not mines but of one of my mom's friends
he has talent...and I draw and also wanted to psint and to carve but I don't
have tools and I think I will need a helper also.I like the idea but I can't say
I can join if this contest takes place because I don't trust myself~_~,because I
am busy~_~ and because exams are coming~_~....uaaaaa!I haven't drawn somethign
from quite soem time because I lack time and also I am so lazy to do something I
just am like a vegetable!

Oh I like the background idea Anj - I think you're right there isn't many
backgrounds, I suppose because many people don't see it as the focal point of
their doujinshi, but somethings drawing backgrounds can be a lot of fun
Just throwing an idea around : "A loooong time ago, a young princess named
chara onee-chan"... hum anyway, the story would be endless, let's get
straight to the point : einna, chara onee-chan and I had that idea (i just
checked my old mail, and stumbled upon it) to make a scenery / background
contest. That would be no characters, black and white or colored, collabs
accepted, a bit like the class contest we had back when we were young. Then we
can also narrow the contest, with maybe having a seasons scenery contest (draw
at least one season, and there'd be a price for best regular and colored for
each season : the "summer" award etc...).
Just to promote the bg / scenery drawing into the doujinshi world. Because we
don't see much of it in the galleries, must of it is just characters.
Still, that's just an idea, and i'm sure that after my exams are finished,
there'll be a lot more to pop up . Also
Frosty-kun is motivated to throw ideas around it seems
