Great too see that others are extremely like minded, if only my wife had the same opinion :D I plan to be watching anime till my eyes drop out at the ripe old age of about 126 (this is just an approximate estimate)

you are only as old as u think u are, i'm 22 and would like to join this group.

i'm just a 18 years but my hair is turning white ver quick so people ask how old i am
i hate that
and any age is goog to see anime and listen the music you like

I'm turning 22 soon. I have sort of noticed a lot of under-18 members are here on MT, so maybe it would be fun to join the "older" crowd?

I'm 34 so I think I'm old enuf to join . XD

yur never too old to watch anime! young at heart! (or at least that's what i keep telling myself... XP )

no one is ever too old. Who says that there has to be certain age to do some things and then you're too old. This is stupid. It's like saying that we're too old to eat chocolate because children like it so much.

Speaking of people saying that there is a certain "age" limit on how old you have to be to watch anime my wife constantly says "aren't you a little old to watch cartoons?" then i sat her down to watch 'Ninja Scroll' and ever since then her perception of what a cartoon is has changed quite dramatically, not to mention she has now watched the whole series of 'Love Hina' now as well.
Who says shock tactics dont work!! :)

Yeah, I hate it when people tell me that I'm too old for anime. This of course from people who have no idea what anime is exactly. And yes, reality sucks... I would very much like to join this group. Turning 20 very soon...still no idea where my life is headed

Hi! :) ...19 years old and would like to join the group :D

I have gotten some PMs about what it means to be in the group and what you have to do. Well... you dont have to do anything! This group is more like a collection of 18+ people. There are no contests and stuff like that. It's mainly a listing of those that are over 18 and those that are proud to be "old" and still in love with anime. So, don't think you have to DO anything! If you want to participate in this little guestbook, then cool! If not, that's cool too! :D

As long as you are young at heart, it doesn't matter your age. ^^ Or so thats what I believe. I feel that anime is for all ages, there shouldn't be a restriction on anime just cause its animation and labeled childish because of that. I think thats stupid. It doesn't matter how old you are, if you like something, don't be ashemed about it! hehe =D.

Good to be here guys! I'm looking forward to no longer being the only 20+ year-old who watches anime. ::Chuckles:: Nice to know I'm not alone.

I just added all the new people that put in requests to join. Welcome to the group! :D

Thanks to everyone that has joined so far and for making this group so fabulous. *hugs all around*

Ooh I just found this group. I'm more than a decade older than the minimum age requirement. This is cool! A place for the elder generation of anime fans on MT. :)

I'll be 24 years old in March and yes I don't want to be in reality. I work in a hospital and have a real job, but I would so much rather to spend my days drawing, reading, and doing something other that what I do. I just started and I am already burned out *_*. This is such a safe haven. I hope you let me in!!!

27 year old Australian requesting permission to come aboard!! :)

See?! There are just a bunch of people still in the closet, scared to be labeled "old". Fear not! We are all in this together! <3

wow nice, the number of members are growing, I guess I don't feel so out of place now. :D

im old enough to join the group... but im still a little kid at heart. tee hee. anyhoo, i hope i get accepted in the groupiee XD

Actually, the funny part is that anime is really more for adults than
children in japan. It's just that over here, people associate cartoons
with children. As more adult anime (i don't mean hentai, i mean anime
with deep meanings that children can't really understand... you
pervert) makes its way over here, i expect a shift in the way people
think of it.
but you're right, i think pokemon really did a number on the genre

I couldn't agree more, outofphase! :D Ever since Adult Swim showed more violent animes, I think it did change what people think about it! Cowboy Bebop was very popular in the mainstream and it attracted a wide variety of fans, which is kinda cool! Adult Swim even showed flcl, for crying out loud! XD Mebbie I should thank Cartoon Network for pushing the envelope a bit with their more violent animes showing late night, ne? ^_^'

Quote by StarCenturyDon't you just hate that, Cy? >.< Before Pokemon made the genre popular, anime wasn't considered childish at all! It was more violent, I think! Now you see a bombardment of kiddy animes that are based on trading cards all of a sudden! x_x Oh well, at least there's still some awesome animes out there for us young adults 21 & over! ^_^'

Quote by CyanideBlizzardI honestly have to say I hate it.
I get told by my parents constantly that anime is childish cartoons and
that I'm just wasting my money on it. Thankfully my friends understand
it, but since I became rather 'addicted' to it, I end up buying a
rather large amount.
I sadly got into anime at around the age of 16 (or fifteen, I can't
remember) and sadly I wasn't too far off from being known as an adult.
I truly didn't get into anime until I was 18 to be honest. Thats when I
was really buying anime and started to do research on other series
until I got to where I am now. Though still learning much I love anime
and consider it something that is not only enjoyable as it is a breath
of fresh air in my life. i like to sit back and watch a good romance
every now and then, or some excitement and action or prehaps sci-fi.
Anime never ceases to satsify me in that area and I will continue to be
a fan of anime until I can't watch it anymore. Since I am considered to
be 'too old for childish things' I'd love to join this group. I only
regret not seeing it sooner.
