nice of you to elaborate misa; and nice elaboration might i add. ^^
something that is still odd to me is the fact that Terra's host doesn't allow
css.
i don't think they can do that, but if they can, then complain your butt off and
drop their service if there's no change. no one likes a host that limits a users
freedoms. >[ or is that just me. i need a drink... ^^
To further expand on tevi's css thing, it's just basically something like
this...
There's a file .css. On this .css (usually name it style.css) you put down
everything: from page background colours, fonts, sizes (you can specify h1, h2,
h3, h4 sizes so you don't need to write <font
size="blah">text</font>, you can write
<h1>blah</h1>) and it'll automatically retrieve the size specified
on the css file. You can specify table attributes, and other things like
that.
The only thing you need to do is put a link in the <head> to the style.css
sheet. You do that for all the pages you want "css"ed by that
particular file.
And when you don't like those colours or sizes, you only need to change the css
file. The other pages stay as they are... because it's what it's linked to that
matters.
Well, for me, I went through my entire code and changed it to CSS [believe me,
it was a massive mess before... O_o I couldn't read or understand it ;;] So right now, using CSS, instead of finding every <font> tag and
changing the colour, the size, the font-family, etc., all I have to do is modify
a couple of lines of the CSS, and I can get the font throughout my entire site
to change =) Dead useful when you've got more than a few pages to change... And
especially when you're changing more than one thing
just a little ticker know as the last time visited. glad to see you're still
around. ^^ now if only misa were here, it'll be like TheUnderappreciated's irc
all over again, except on firefox.
CSS rocks! It makes your code a lot neater, because everything's controlled at
the start, and therefore, it becomes easier to make changes, because all you
have to do is find one line and change it, rather than going through and trying
to find every instance of a tag and modifying its attributes =)
@UA
Could you guys offer some comments on my wall in progress? I'm unsatisfied with
it and if I can't get satisfied I'm gonna end up putting it in my wall archive
and not uploading it to mt
@Makhan
D: that's horrible. what excuse did they use this time?
@Terra
i know it can be hard for so many people to adopt to these new standards, and
that chances are that a lot of today's websites will never conform to the new
standards; but like i said before this will all be for a good cause. it's a way
of future proofing your hard work and making sure it will reach the audience
exactly how it's suppost to be, error free.
as for what css can do for you, i guess you haven't checked out, or known, how
web pages are styled. css Zen Garden
is a perfect example of this. there you can see so many possibilities to styling
your content. click on the links under the torii on the righ hand side. if you
don't know what a torii is, it's the object used as a marker sor a sacred place,
i'm sure you can recognize it since you're an anime fan. if
not, it's the brown thing on the side that looks like a "T" with two
pillars, sort of like "TT." check it out, and then you'll see the
beauty that html cannot do.
frames are such a horrible thing, and there's really no use for them in my
opnion, but to make a frame you simply have to use a frame tag and it's
attributes. you use iframe for an iframe and framset for a normal frame. :]
@Rah
I don't change that easily I'm afraid, it took me almost 2 years to go from bad
form vectoring to good form vectoring. HTML code changes would be the same. What
can xHtml and CSS do that normal HTML can't? Though I know normal HTML can do
frames, but I have no clue as to how to do those...
<reply rant= "for starters, tons of code has become depricated in order
to make for more compliant standards. have you ever tried viewing stuff with
lousy coding jobs on todays multimedia devices? it just doesn't work, this is
where XHTML and CSS comes into view. since all of the technology industry are
making the browsers for their multimedia devices more and more compliant with
these new standards. web pages with incorrect code will become obsolete more and
more as these advancements find their way into our palms. so i say that it
doesn't hurt anyone to try and keep up with these new changes. in the end,
everyone will be happy. =]" />

I keep thinking and thinking about my maintenance project. I'm half-worried that
I will be penalized for deleting my own work... I'm also curious if it may be
possible that my artistic level will go up...
I really want feedback and I'd love to post a thread about it, but I don't know
WHERE to post such a thread and I'm worried that it will entice trolls to go
through my gallery and request anything that they think should go for
Quarantine, which is by no means what I want So
I've been waiting and waiting for you guys here... *sigh* Hmm... if it's a
matter of you not wanting to DL, then maybe I can try uploadin all the
prospectives to a separate page that you guys can look at... that way if I do
delete them, I'll have entries already prepared, and if I don't delete them
things'll still be ok...
beside the fact that it's an old deprecated tag since html 4.01, nothing wrong

this is one of the new forms to center used now a days:
<p style="text-align: center;">
*uses <center> to center* What's wrong with that? *only knows basic
html*
And my site is up and working nicely... the uploader causes me some grief by
randomly deciding not to upload some files at certain times... but most of my
already deleted and never submitted walls are up right now... only 5 wallpapers
aren't up and 2 of those have alternate versions up already. I need to finish
all the write-ups too, but almost all my uploads are done. http://free.1gbfreehost.com/terrawall/
The last thing I need to do is to decide which walls in my gallery should be
taken down now.

these to stay, please do. If you can give verification that thety should go, do
that too.
Coukd someone else comment? Because I snagged a site: http://free.1gbfreehost.com/terrawall/
and am just finishing up the "Never made it to mt" walls and am about
to start the "Deleted from mt walls" I'll do the ones that are already
deleted first, but I would appreciate the second opinions -does anyone think
some of the walls I posted are really good enough, despite breaking one or 2 mt
policies?
@k1ru
This really isn't a matter of people liking the walls, heck, I LOVE LOVELESS ~ Memories by
