Well, as you can probably tell from your notifications, we've started Group Discussions. How often we'll start a new one will depend on how popular they are. Well, please go ahead and participate! :D.

http://www.arcentral.net/ssbm/ssbmV12/v12.html

thats the link to it I hope you know how to find out what version of the game you have. If you dont then Ill tell you.

on the back of your disk the shiny part youll see a bunch of numbers look for the part that says something like. 0.XX the X's stand for eaghter 00 01 02 (00 being the oldest.) whatevers the last number is the last number for your version.

what happened to all the members I check this thing every 2 hours but I never see any new posts....

Whoa... those are REALLY odd AR codes >.>. I've never heard of them before o_0. You should get them on video and upload it to YouTube.

Also, how are AR codes discovered? I can't imagine people doing one random sequence at a time >.>.

GUESS WHAT! I was playing around on my action replay and made this code. When I played the game anytime I hit even if it was nothing I hitted my opponents it was so cool! so I went on adventure mode on veryhard. but when I got to crazy hand the game froze. But it was fun while it lasted.

I also found a code on the internet that lets you switch moves with the charater behind you. (example. Peach luigi and mario are all being played. Peach would get luigis moves. Luigi would get marios and Mario would get... well none.) It was cool but I constantly froze the game.

Also a peach with luigis moves and idols looks drunk. And anyone who swaps with yoshie looks like a zombie cause there hands will be sticking out like one. Also link looks retarted with zelda moves. If Roy and Marth switch there is no real change. Fox and Peach can NEVER swap because the game freezes when you try. Zelda can swap with no one BUT Peach and Peach can swap with everyone BUT Fox. Also I went on adventure mode and tryed to switch moves with master hand. At first it never worked then after about 15 tries it did and Peach looked like a wiggley floating missapened worm. and everything I did froze the game.

And thats the end of my almost pointless pharagraph!

Sorry guys, but YouTube is down, so thus the SSBM Video of the Month is down as well. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. OX

oh thats just peaching....

It looks like it.

so were making new rules?

Quote by AlfonseWell, I've returned, after a long time of working on projects and whatnot.
Anyway, I've changed the video once again.
It's Shadow Claw the Mewtwo Combo vid.

Man, this group's been dying hasn't it. Not much activity anymore. We need to come up with a way to attract attention to Smashers in MT. But how? Any suggestions to you few members who still come and stop by.
I was thinking if we make a rule of people having to stop by here at least once a week. I see most other groups have that rule, so why not have that rule here? It's just a thought.

Yeah... that's a good point. How about we post in the forum our Video of the Day? That could attract members. Also, we should have that once-per-week rule... Or, we could make polls that include all of the members, such as "Who is the best character in the game in your point of view, and why?"

Quote by ElegantsI may be but I still think I can beat them. I dont know that or Im just overe cofident... -_-:

Yeah... I have a feeling you are >_>. Don't worry though; I used to be like that. Then I went to a tournament and got 3-stocked by a pro >.<... Yeah... fun times XD.

I may be but I still think I can beat them. I dont know that or Im just overe cofident... -_-:

Quote by ElegantsI was watching that video. And if I was in that match and they still fought like that they would of been dead. My 8 year old brother could do better!

Those people are pros, and it was the finals of a tournament. I think you're underrating them :\.

I was watching that video. And if I was in that match and they still fought like that they would of been dead. My 8 year old brother could do better!

Quote by AlfonseAnyway, I liked that match, between Isai and Ken. I haven't necessarily checked out the thread, but it seems interesting, I might check it out later.

Personally, that's my favorite match :D. Anyway, regarding the thread, I myself haven't gotten around to watching every single video there, but I've watched a couple. This one was probably the most ridiculous one of them all. (By the way, the link to the Smashboards thread is http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=83132.

Also, just in case people were wondering, I have accounts in various websites (xanga, Smashboards, and YouTube) that use the alias metroid1117.

Quote by Alfonse Hmm, I think you're still messing up then Elegants. The thing I can come up with is that you try to waveshine/dash too close to the edge, meaning you probably airdodge on accident.

I think your right! Why eles whould fox do that stance as if hes skydiving without a pharashoot?!? Stupid me! ^_^'

Quote by ElegantsI am getting really good at waveshing now I can do it back and forth the problem is fox almost ALWAYS falls of the stage after the third time and the thing that pisses me off is that he dosnt even make a grab for it....

That's only a hunch though, cause that's happened to me from time to time as well. So keep practicin and you won't fall off as much. ;)
(man, it's been a while since I've last stopped by xD)

Hmm, so you're serious about that lin? Someone actually thinks Wavedashing is cheap? Well, if that's not the most retarted thing I've ever heard....::sigh::. Well, I really didn't expect to hear that, but I think that's funny at the same time. xD
Also, very well put Lin. Melee does need you take advantage of every situation and deliver as much punishment.

Oh yeah, before I forget.
WELCOME NASIKI! xD 41st member! who0t who0t. n_n
I'm hoping when SSBB comes out, we'll manage to attract more members. I think it'd be awsome if we could get 100 members. xD

I am getting really good at waveshing now I can do it back and forth the problem is fox almost ALWAYS falls of the stage after the third time and the thing that pisses me off is that he dosnt even make a grab for it....

Quote by AlfonseWell, my opinion is totally in the favor of leaving wavedashing in SSBB. If the developers decided to leave it in, then it would make sense to me if they built it in the next installment because the way I see it, the discovery of wavedash was an awesome accident. And the develpors should take into consideration that it was actually a good idea to have it in there, just this time, it's intentional to build in the wavedash. Know what I mean?
And on another note, why would anyone want the wavedash to be taken out? People who consider that just don't know the usefulness of wavedashing. At least, that's the way I see it. <_<

You'd be surprised... on Smashboards, there was this total noob who thought wavedashing was cheap because it was a glitch, left in or not. Plus he said it made the game not fun because people like Luigi and Samus spam it. Anyway, I completely advocate wavedashing all the way. The unique thing about SSBM is that if you're just an average person, you can pick up the basic techniques of recoverying and playing very quickly. If you want to play at a high level though, that's when the game gets very difficult and you have to strain yourself to learn things such as wavedashing, proper DI, l-canceling, and edge teching. For a game like Tekken or Mortal Kombat, all you do is memorize button combinations and look for an opening. For SSBM, you have to actively chase your opponent and deliever as much punishment as possible before he/she manages to DI out of it.

Also, please welcome our 41st member, Nasiki! Welcome to the SSBM Club!

I was searching around Smashboards and found an interesting thread with the best matches of all time: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=83132. If you haven't seen professionals face each other before, I highly recommend that you watch the second video listed in the tread, http://youtube.com/watch?v=7tMO0bo1HnY. Even though it is an old match (about two or three years ago) it's considered a classic; Ken and Isai were easily the best players in that time period. (By the way, I was the one who posted that video (metroid1117).)

Quote by lin1011Anyway, there's been debates about this on Smashboards, but I just wanted to see where it will go here: Should the developers keep wavedashing in the game?

...wavedashing is actually a glitch that abuses the physics engine of the game. BUT, the developers actually discovered wavedashing during the debugging process and just decided to leave it in for gamers to figure it it. So, should SSBB have wavedashing in it, or not?

Anyway, about the games. You say it isn't going to come until the year after? So are you sayin in 2008? Or late 2007? I just needed ya to clarify that. ^_^'
Also, I plan on gettin Zelda:Twilight Princess myself, along with Sonic and the Secret Rings. And then I plan on gettin the Sonic Adventure 3 game with the new character called Silver.*not sure if that's the title* It's comin out for the PS3 though. Fortunately my friend is gettin the PS3 makin it easier for me to get my hands on it. xD
What all games do the rest of you plan on getting?

It's already been announced that Brawl won't be a launch title, unfortunately >_<.

Anyway, I was hoping that the Wii would be cheaper, but compared to the other systems, it's about half the price. Good news for Nintendo. I am definetely going to get Twilight Princess for my first game on the Wii :). MP:3 and SSBB aren't coming out until the year after, anyway .

Anyway, there's been debates about this on Smashboards, but I just wanted to see where it will go here: Should the developers keep wavedashing in the game? For those of you who don't know, wavedashing is a technique that lets you slide forwards or backwards from a dash, crouch, standing position, or right when you're level with a surface. It is done by jumping from the ground, but right after you leave it, airdodge diagonally into it. (Watch the video at the top with the Ganondorf in Yoshi's Island if you don't know what I'm talking about. Wavedashing is explained towards the end.)

Anyway, wavedashing is actually a glitch that abuses the physics engine of the game. BUT, the developers actually discovered wavedashing during the debugging process and just decided to leave it in for gamers to figure it it. So, should SSBB have wavedashing in it, or not?

Dang, probalbly on hold for making the game better!

Quote by ElegantsOk I know im kinda late on this no wait VERY late but one day I was practicing on the debug menu with Peach against 5 level nine foxes on the dummy test level with my health permitly at 999 percent trying to stay alive for at least 15 minuits with only 15 stock. I was doing pretty good only died 1 time out of three minuites. But then one of the foxes kicked me and I flew acroos the stage at a blinding speed but as I flew I was repetedly tapping the L and R buttens and my charater clinged on the wall and landed on her feet and I lived! it was so cool!

(Also I died at 11 minuets which sucks...)

That's an interesting way to practice... You could easily accomplish that without dying on Final Destination though. Grab one edge, then hold down to let go and then press Y or X (while holding down) when you're under the stage to start floating. You could then float ALL the way to the other side of Final Destination COMPLETELY UNDER THE STAGE, then just use up+B to grab the edge then repeat.
