Doremi's subs been out since a few days ago. Its also on Youtube the last time I
checked. And I hear Static Subs is also working on subbing it too.
The music is the same as the tv series. I think there were a couple of new bgms
too. No opening theme, just a new closing theme. And yes, definitely more Mai
action. She's getting the screentime she deserves.
About the unknown enemy, its rather powerful considering it defeated some strong
heroines. Not much of anything concrete of what's its mission is yet.
Still quite a few unanswered questions left for us to ponder in the OVA. Gonna
be a long wait for ep 02... late Feb 07.

Biker Natuki and the 2 super rare student council figures might not be as easy
to get unless one lives in Japan or know some connections. I believe the Natsuki
one can only be preordered through a hobby magazine (Dengeki mag?) and if I
intepret the official site correctly, the Shizuru/Haruka figures can be only be
purchased in specific conventions in Japan taking place Dec 2006-Feb 2007.
Eventually, these figures would most likely end up in Yahoo (Japan)auction sites
with way too high bidding amounts.
I agree that Otome could be distant future from Mai Hime. Many theories have
cross my mind that the two could be connected. Stuff like the 12 Kingdoms War
could be related to the Hime festivals, Fuuka Gakuen seen in a later episode,
Miyu's SEARS power, etc. However, nothing has been confirmed. For now, I think
Sunrise just want to screw our minds......
.....and encourage some of us to spend more money. Check out the gorgeous
Shizuru Viola manga version figure.
I think the maker is the same ones that did the Black Diamond Nina I posted some
time ago. Its probably going to be a garage figure. If it wasn't, I would be
trying to buy it whenever its out.
Anyone following the M.Otome Zwei manga? Its up to Ch 1 and unlike the previous
Hime/Otome mangas, the story appears to be following the anime.
I see Mai Otome as an alternative universe from Mai Hime. Its the creator's way
of reusing characters from one series and have them place into a new story with
new identities yet still retain some of their original personalities.
As far as I know, there's no official word that the 2 series share the same
timeline despite the numerous Hime references seen throughout Mai Otome. Most
story connections fans/viewers come up with in theory is speculation.
I just have a question ,what is the real relationship between Mai-Hime and
MaiZ-hime. both of them have almost the same character but different position.
Some people that the 2nd of Mai-Hime, is that true?

I liked the episode. Enough action and some drama to make the series look good.
The preview for the next episode looks to be still in pre-production. Judging
from the scenes, I'm starting to make the connection to the plot for Vol 2 that
I had mentioned in my last post. (I had mentioned a hijacking. Now I think I
know who got captured).
BTW, nice screencap of Natsuki Cheza. When I saw how they focus on her in the
desert scene, I was mentally screaming, oh geez, fanservice...
I'm much more of a Shizuru fan and I was a little sad on what had happened to
her in OVA 1.

like his manipulative ways in Hime. He seems more creul/ruthless in Otome which
is why I prefer the Hime version.

EP. 1
Well, I haven't understand much (don't speak japanese) but from looking here is
what I understand:
An asteroid as chasing on the earth. The otome start out to destroy it but it
doesn't work. The asteroid will be crashing into Windbloom so Arika decides to
stop it on her own. She destroys it alone and becomes a local hero. It seems
that she is attacked after the victory by some "shadow
thing".
One piece of the asteroid is crashing into the desert and Natsuki, Irina,
Shizuru and Gal are checking the scene. After they didn't find anything
suspicous they return to Garderobe. Only Shizuru remains and want to check alone
again. What she found is Miyu (she has seen the crash of the asteroid and was
going to check out) but petrified! Shizuru is shocked and is also attacked by a
shadow which looks like Arika. After the dust is down, Shizuru is also
petriefied. After that a shadow with the shape of Shizuru is seen.
Meanwhile, Mikoto is enjoying lunch with Mai and gets a vision. She soon is
collapsing and not waking up again.
In the town a slave is awaking. A really huge one, which can't even Arika and
Mai defeat.
At Garderobe the Shinso is not working right and so Miss Maria is going to
check. She sees some shadows (Arika, Shizuru, Miyu) and is petriefied after
that.
Natsuki is arriving at Garderobe and sees an explosion and after that a strange
big shadow is flying away. After a big explosion (Mai & Arika could defeat
the slave in the end) another or maybe the same shadow is seen. Looks like a
tenshi with a blade or something like that.
After the fight, the black valley is returning where is comes from and taking
Mashiro away.
Somewhere in a nice green valley, Nina is looking up and seeing black clouds
over Windbloom.
Well, that's what I understand until now. I also think one of the shadows looks
like Nina at the end of Ep. 26

I ordered the normal version. I wasn't too interested enough in the LE to spend
nearly $100 on it. The posters and the Mikoto cellphone strap would evetnually
either be collecting dust in my closet or maybe end up making little money on
one of my future ebay auctions.
And about the Nina manga version figure. I think its one of the most beautiful
of all the Otome figures I seen so far. The fact that it requires painting and
cost alot of money is enough for me to not buy it and just settle in admiring a
picture of it instead.

Four more days til the OVA comes out and already Bandai Visual site already has
info for the second OVA. It will be due out in Feb 23, 2007. From what I can
make out on the summary, it takes place after the events in OVA vol 1. A bus
gets hijacked by terrorists and its Haruka to the rescue. In the meantime,
something is going on with the Black Valley. Some of the cast for this OVA is
Arika, Haruka, Yukino, Chie, and Nina.
And it looks like its going to have a new theme song. No song title
yet.

Looks like some people got their hands on the OVA dvd before the official
release date. Raw version is out in the open. The meteorite crash threat to
Windbloom is not exactly the main plot of the episode though it made have
something to do with the evilness going on the world. Mai gets more action
screen time. Arika is showing off some new moves. There is a cliffhanger, which
means the story is not a one-shot and it would continue in vol 2.....three
months from now.
haven't play it, that kind of game is rare in my place.. so i need to order it.
As for psychic force is my first game on PS, the sequel is far much better (PF
2012).. X battle of destiny also have the same playstyle
that nina's figurine is totally awesome btw *drool just by lookin at it* but
ASSEMBLY!? i guess i'll pass
Anybody here played the Mai Otome PS2 game yet? Judging from the various videos
I have seen, the game reminds me of a very old PSX game called Psychic Force.
You battle in the air and blast your opponent mostly with elemental powers. I
read some fan reviews. Most of them mentioned to buy the game if you are a big
fan of the anime. I'm still waiting for my copy. I don't expect the fighting
techniques to be deep but I do hope it would be at least fun to play.
The game's opening intro can be found at YOUTUBE. Link also shows
various game battle videos uploaded by fans.

in Japan. Then later some buyers put them in auctions for the public to bid
