That whole thing is very sad. It makes me wonder about how many other soldiers

covered up their deaths by friendly fire to protect their image.
Well, I wouldn't put it below them to do
as such. They're used to sending soldiers to their death so it wouldn't surprise
me if they did in fact try covering this up.

Makes me wish I
still had the Science Channel. Fortunately, the History Channel has that new
show called The Universe which is really cool...
Quote: Evidently scientists have found a positive
correlation between the size of the black holes in the middle of a galaxy and
the actual size of the diameter of the galaxy. A black hole in the middle of a
galaxy is about .05% the size of its galaxy's
diameter.
1/2000th?
Quote: This led them to theorize
that black holes make the galaxy's that they reside in. Some black holes are
still 'active' and others are 'dormant'. They wanted to know why some black
holes were dormant if they still created the rotation of the galaxy (making
their theory more plausible). Scientists now believe that when black holes
'create' galaxies (not including all of the dust and mass and elements that went
into creating the black hole itself) by their gravitational pull. They begin to
spin and suck in the debris that is closest to them. The more mass they
accumulate (this is still theory), the faster they spin. This would mean that
younger galaxies spin faster.
? I would think that older
galaxies would spin faster since the black holes inside them would have more
time to collect mass.
Quote: Anyways, the faster the
black holes spin create a tremendous heat. This heat is caused my the friction
of the particles that are being sucked in which creates massive explosions and
the creation of new stars. After so many explosions and concussions moving some
of the farther away material from the black hole's graviational pull, the black
hole begins to run out of fuel (since nothing is close enough for it to suck
in). This makes the black hole slow down and eventually become 'dormant' in the
center of the galaxy.
So these explosions cause matter to
blast out at speeds greater than the speed of light? Since black holes
themselves are able to suck in light. You know...
Quote: I wonder if this theory
would mean that black holes make the dark matter too... or do you think it would
come afterwards from some other cosmic event?
Dang. I'm still
not too knowledged about dark matter. Going to have to look that one up
later.

The sole idea behind dark matter is just that, that we have observed galaxies
with far more mass than can be accounted for by the visible matter in them.
Other than that, we really don't know anything.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, that's why I added "or 'detectable'
matter". What I actually meant is that it may be matter, but it isn't
matter as we currently define it.
No, dark matter is not the absence of matter. They have recently detected a
galaxy that has far more gravity than it should. They believe that dark matter
is the undetectable mass within that galaxy. There is a theory that the matter
wasnt ionized and absorbed 32 centimeter photons. I dont remember how the theory
worked but the point is dark matter is not the absence of matter.
Dark matter is still under heavy investigation but my understanding was that it
didn't actually have anything to do with darkness itself, that is there is
plenty of dark matter in areas of light, the only difference is it passes
straight through. i.e. Dark matter is just the theoretical name for the absence
of matter (or 'detectable' matter).
That's my take on it but I make absolutely no claim on any truth to that .
I would agree that cold is the absence of heat and dark is the absence of light,
however good, bad, moral, immoral etc are all human concepts. They are based
entirely upon opinion and have no measurable ability so it's really a very
stupid thing to say. You can't place something of nature next to a
pronoun.
The christian person also states there 'evil being the absence of good'. Again
there's a neutrality in the middle separating the two. You can do something good
or you can do nothing at all.....or you can go out of your way to do something
evil. The christian is putting someone who's in a neutral position doing nothing
on the same level as someone who goes out of their way to destroy lives,
ignoring the fact the scale actually works both ways.
In conclusion not only did that jolly good christian prove the professor doesn't
have a brain, but also that he himself didn't and probably that 99% of people
don't have a brain, what a jolly clever fella he is (and what a moron to think
that justifies god).

Also that "take darkness in a jar" thing, I'm no expert on cosmology
and stuff like that, wouldn't dark matter, since it doesn't exactly reflect
light or whatever, wouldn't it technically be possible to literally put it in a
jar? Though the only problem really is to get it.
Considering how little we know about dark matter, you really can't say! If you
want to put it in a jar, it would probably have to be condensed somehow...and
for all I know, it might not even be dark matter anymore at that stage (unless
it already is condensed, which is unlikely). Of course, this is all assuming it
doesn't consist of antiparticles, which would make it difficult to deal with at
all...though with CP violation and all, we probably don' have to worry about
that.
Also, interesting that Pat Tillman was an atheist, considering the stereotype
that football players are religious...
Got some weird things... O.o I read alex's favorite, fun. xP
Well, I'm bored again...
My statement would really be like what alex's fav would be, and theres the
"why are you alive?"
Just want to note, evil and good, in a quantitative method, both are the
opposite no stupidity "absence". You "heal" someone in terms
of surgery means, you can kill someone with a gun, now you can kill 1 million
people and keep going on and save 1 million people by surgical means, and that
number can keep going on (though no one probably can live that long to do that
many surgeries and probably no one can kill that many people without getting
killed) Unless killing doesn't mean evil and saving someone's life doesn't mean
good, I think anyone can get the point there...

As red means that they're trying to give you a virus called

I haven't read your favorite one yet, but I have to say that the original is
just ignorant..it must have been easy to "revise" it. Also:
"Wrong again, sir. You see, immorality is merely the absence of morality.
Is there such thing as injustice? No. Injustice is the absence of justice. Is
there such a thing as evil?" The Christian pauses. "Isn't evil the
absence of good?"
Also, this section is just plain wrong. Immorality is not the absence of
morality, that would be amorality. Likewise, the absence of justice is not
injustice, it's anarchi (or something of that nature).
