Sometimes, I think next we'll have to get barcodes, tracking devices, and have
to give the government bloodsamples. I
know it sounds paranoid, but I've seen bills and other things that make me
believe that those aren't too far off.
The barcodes and tracking devices I remember seeing as the new social security
card that they wanted everyone to get. It would track the people around the
country, since they want to perhaps even use them as credit cards too. Also, the
blood samples... has anyone heard about them wanting to inforce a required AIDS
test for anyone who wants to work here in America? The more I think about the
new bills and the US government and what they keep making into laws, it just
keeps reminding me more and more of George Orwell's Big Brother from 1984.
Haha, MIT is pretty weird. They've got some really eccentric people there.

refuse the possibility of travelling back in time, if it were possible one would
assume we would have found it somewhere in the future and already visited

Suppose some futuristic society figured out how to travel back in time.
Hopefully by then they would be intelligent enough as a whole not to do
something stupid with that ability. Anyways, the effects of time travel
(regardless of whether or not it's possible) is confusing and being able to
travel back in time is really paradoxical. Even if you don't do anything to any
sentient entity, just existing in a different period in time would mean that the
past has been changed. That in itself is paradoxical.

Yeah, I saw that article too. My mom and I were talking about seeing an
advertisment on TV about them wanting you to send money to them so that they can
bring certain religious people to Israel (to bring on the 2nd coming). They
never said "to bring on tthe 2nd coming", but in the Bible its one of
the things that are supposed to happen during the "end times." Its
obvious what they're trying to do. There will be some people afraid of it and
others will want to help usher in a 'new era.' Its another Christian form of
fanatic-ism. Fanatics like that give other religious groups and people a bad
image. They are pretty scary and probably dangerous to some degree.
Time can be slowed down. When you reach the speed of light, infact, time stops.
You would not age a second if you could move through space at that speed.
However, going faster than the speed of light would start moving you back in
time, which not only defies the laws of physics, but brings up alot of
philosophical issues.

success and sign of blessing.' Churches are non-profitable organisations and I
don't think they have any requirements to make their accounts known to the
public, so no one really knows how much money goes in compared to how much is
distributed for the greater good.
Well, unfortunately money
usually speaks louder than faith. Sigh, it is truly sad.

Ok, at my church, they have open meetings on how much the church has made in
donations and whatnot. They explain to us what they would like to use it for and
let us vote on how the money is shared within the church and outside the church
for the public. Also, the IRS still has to know how much money that any non
profit organization earns each year. (I have a religion, but I'm also an open
minded scientist... I like to listen to both sides of a conversation before
adding my two cents and I believe its good to have your own personal beliefs
about everything... even if they don't go along with the crowd).
Quote: "economic outcomes are
the new measure of spiritual success and sign of
blessing."
It sounds like the guy is referring to a new age, corrupted version of the
original "free will offering" called Tithing. I can understand how
people can think that wealth is a sign of tangible blessing, but its NOT
spiritual blessing (in my opinion, being a spiritual person). Spiritual
blessings, are blessings in the way you feel. My understanding of spiritual
blessings is that they are when you feel good about helping at the homeless
shelter, or volunteering for the community. Its like a feeling of fullfillment
because you've done something to help others. (I personally think that people
should want to help others anyways, not just to make them feel good.) It bothers
me that this new age church is promoting this outlook on the original tithe. It
reminds me of some of those older TV evangelists that would say to donate to
them and then the "preacher" would run off with the money.
It might just be the churches that I've gone to that are the ones that vote on
how the "offering" is distributed, but they don't ask for any specific
amount. My church even publically announces, that they will give the donated
money back without question if someone has been financially hurt or has money
problems. They have huge logbooks because of this reason and because of the IRS.
I don't know if the church actually has to pay taxes or anything, but I'm sure
that people want to know how much they've donated to the church as a
"charity organization" tax write-off. Our church even once voted on
using the money to assist a large family whose house had burnt down earlier in
the week. People from the congregation came and helped, also they used the money
to buy materials and get all the construction needs. It was really nice to know
that there, you could see the money going to help people in need.
Is that really a religious group or just a bunch of rich morons running around
and boasting about how rich they are? Wow... I used the word boast... I sound
weird...

can't prove it. Interesting theories to say the least. ^^ I really wish I could
see the program again or remember the title of it so I could find it. Its really
good.
Sounds like a very intersting program! It's things like this that make me wish I
still kept up with TV...oh well. I looked on Wikipedia,
but they have very little information on it, as it is still a major unsolved
problem.
Quote by yothsothgothI apologize for
my absence. I'm glad to be back. ^^ I've got a lot to say.
Quote by ProgramZEROWell, I'm not
sure he was an Atheist but he himself was quite secular. It was tragic enough
that he died and even more tragic that it was friendly fire that led to his
death and that the army, according to some, interfered with the investigation
and tried covering up the incident to protect it's image.
That whole thing is very sad. It makes me wonder about how many other soldiers
(if any and I'm sure there are more... just what I think) that the army has
covered up their deaths by friendly fire to protect their image.
Well, I wouldn't put it below them to do
as such. They're used to sending soldiers to their death so it wouldn't surprise
me if they did in fact try covering this up.
Quote: Also, changing topics back
to the dark matter and black holes... I saw something the other day (Science
Channel) about how black holes make galaxies.
Makes me wish I
still had the Science Channel. Fortunately, the History Channel has that new
show called The Universe which is really cool...
Quote: Evidently scientists have found a positive
correlation between the size of the black holes in the middle of a galaxy and
the actual size of the diameter of the galaxy. A black hole in the middle of a
galaxy is about .05% the size of its galaxy's
diameter.
1/2000th?
Quote: This led them to theorize
that black holes make the galaxy's that they reside in. Some black holes are
still 'active' and others are 'dormant'. They wanted to know why some black
holes were dormant if they still created the rotation of the galaxy (making
their theory more plausible). Scientists now believe that when black holes
'create' galaxies (not including all of the dust and mass and elements that went
into creating the black hole itself) by their gravitational pull. They begin to
spin and suck in the debris that is closest to them. The more mass they
accumulate (this is still theory), the faster they spin. This would mean that
younger galaxies spin faster.
? I would think that older
galaxies would spin faster since the black holes inside them would have more
time to collect mass.
Quote: Anyways, the faster the
black holes spin create a tremendous heat. This heat is caused my the friction
of the particles that are being sucked in which creates massive explosions and
the creation of new stars. After so many explosions and concussions moving some
of the farther away material from the black hole's graviational pull, the black
hole begins to run out of fuel (since nothing is close enough for it to suck
in). This makes the black hole slow down and eventually become 'dormant' in the
center of the galaxy.
So these explosions cause matter to
blast out at speeds greater than the speed of light? Since black holes
themselves are able to suck in light. You know...
Quote: I wonder if this theory
would mean that black holes make the dark matter too... or do you think it would
come afterwards from some other cosmic event?
Dang. I'm still
not too knowledged about dark matter. Going to have to look that one up
later.
Quote: I thought the whole show was
pretty sweet.
I'm jealous!
Quote:
Perhaps its a little too nerdy for some, but I realy enjoyed the
theories. They all seemed pretty good arguments. I'm also surprised that I
retain that much information from the show. Oh btw,
they also said the one in the middle of the Milky Way... they think has begun to
spin again. Kinda scary...
It shall spin and spin and spin and we will all umm... nevermind, I didn't say
anything...
Interesting theory, I BECAME A NERD... AHHHHHHH oh wait... I already was one...?
