Just when everyone is talking about feeling old, I have a good "I'm may be 22 but I still look young" story. Just the other day, I went to an interview for a new job and when I was about to go outside someone asked me "are you here to see your dad?" (said with a voice used when talking to a kid)... that made me laugh. Sure there aren't that many engineers who work for R&D companies but the guy really thought that I was still in high school!

Quote by kashikosa not really logical, but then intense love is an abnormal state of mind lol.

Hahahaha...abnormal. I have no idea why I find that so funny. And that is my only contribution to this branch of the conversation. *wanders off still laughing because it's true*

Quote by sailorchironGood points, all of them kashikosa. Yah, I don't understand getting married if you can't actually live on your own. What's the point in getting married if you still live at home?

The point is... it is... hmm... lemme think... You get to have a 'wedding' themed party, get presents, and get drunk legally and then, if you don't like what you get, you can get a divorce? :P
But seriously, I asked my friend that question and she couldn't answer, she was talking about love that can't stand the distance etc... not really logical, but then intense love is an abnormal state of mind lol.

Welcome to the group kashikosa! :D

OMG! Finally a group I can relate to emotionally! (Kinda missed it before or maybe until recently I didn't have any problem with people telling me I'm immature... O_o)

I'd like to get into the discussion. I'm (only) twenty and going to Uni. My younger friend already has a kid and many of my friends are getting married this year. I always wonder how the hell are they going to support themselves especially since I'm the only one of my group who actually HAS a job...
When I hear things like 'You should grow up, you're not young anymore' I get highly irritated, 'cause when it is needed I am very responsible and what I do in my private time is my personal business... And if I'm not going to act immature right now, what will I become in the future?!

I'm 30 and still unmarried. I've recently started a new job and we were talking about having kids and I pointed out that at my age, having none showed that I agreed with the idea that they're a lot of work and expensive, and I got all these blank stares because they thought I was 22 or 23... Btw, Smurfs rock. One my fav faux-valley-girl phrases is "like, omg, like gag me with a dead Smurf!"

Speaking of feeling old, I just learned that a girl I used to hang out with and who is a year younger than me is getting married in June...

Oh man... the worst is when I'm out with my two younger siblings (14 and 12) and people think they're my kids. I mean seriously... do I look old enough to have two kids those ages? (and it's not like they're abnormally short or anything...) -_-

hello peoples, just dropping in, i need to participate more. lol.

LOL! I get a kick out of reading your posts! Just wait until you're asked if you have a seniors card by some smart ass eighteen year old sales clerk so you can get a discount! I get asked if I have grandkids! LOL! I hope not! At least not yet anyway LOL! Man! In a few more years I'll probably will ... and then I'll feel old!

Seriously though, don't give up what you enjoy doing just because everyone else does or society says so. Enjoy the best of both worlds. You can still enjoy alot of the things you did as a child as long as you take your responsibilities seriously as an adult. And some thing just get better with age ... like playing doctor :)

Quote by angelxxuanwait until you're 28, soon to be 29, and you walk into the doctor's office and they ask where's your husband or do you want you're husband to come back and we can talk about things...

Omg. I sooooo hear you on this one. I'm 28 too, and I just got asked if I had kids that would be cranky if I hadn't bought x item by the clerk at the store. I actually felt my heart flip-flop because I was thinking, "Dear lord...do I really look like I have kids [multiple kids! wtf!?] at home!?" x_x That was a shocker. It's still shocking. I'm in the singles-boat too. It sucks when you're stereotyped into categories, but to be put into a category that skips about four more steps in my life before that one happens... OX Now that hurt. :pacman: *goes to decompress*

I have flashes of feeling old... like when I talk about Smurfs and my siblings give me that "what?" expression... but for the most part I don't usually feel that way. I'll be 23 in December, but according to most, I could still pass for a high schooler... >_<

I'm 20 (I'll be 21 on Sunday!) and I still don't feel like an adult, but then again most people still think of me as a kid because I'm kind of short. And for the record sailorchiron, I don't know what I'm doing XD

I never really felt old until I walked into an anime store with my cousin and we saw two little girls that were talking and looking at the anime like we used to when we first got into it... It was kind of weird o_o

wait until you're 28, soon to be 29, and you walk into the doctor's office and they ask where's your husband or do you want you're husband to come back and we can talk about things...and then I have to go through the entire spill of being single...I suppose it's not like the whole mom and dad thing but in truth it is because it's just another attempt at society to stereotype and label a person....just because you're x old (adult speaking) doesn't mean you should be stereotyped in that fashion...in my opinion anyways but oh well can't stop the idiots in action I suppose...

LOL! Yah, it's a dichotomy in the US, at 18 you're legally an adult so no one helps you out any more but everyone still acts like you don't know what you're doing...

Hello everyone! So oldsters, ha? Honestly sometimes I really do feel like an oldster when I say that I grew up watching Albator (Captain Harlock) and Goldorak (Grendizer)... or even Cobra or City Hunter, I saw that when it first came out on French TV in the early 90s!

But to jump on the conversation thread, in France, I did not feel an adult up until the age of 20 or so, still today most people ask me if I would not rather have my mum and dad look over administrative documents before I hand them in. That's on the one hand, on the other it feels weird when people at the store refer to me as "Madame" instead of "Mademoiselle", but I suppose there are people my age already married and with kids...

well here in japan you're not considered an adult, by some, not until you're 20 so I guess you're almost old? hehe

Holly Crap! You have to be eighteen to join the Oldsters group? Is eighteen considered old now-a-days? Jesus, you guys make me feel ancient ... one foot in the grave ... I guess in the world of anime, eighteen IS old :) Seeya around.

Hope that everyone had a Happy Halloween! :D

hello! just stopping by!

Huzzah. :) sailorchiron worked her magic. Thank you bunches! Much easier to read now. ^_^

yep it's more left then center :)

It's because I have an open center alignment in the xhtml. I'll see if I can make it left justified. Sorries.

Okay maybe not. >=( I'm not sure what happened since it was left before and it's not changing back to left.

Okay, NOW it should be left aligned, I changed it in the style sheet.
