Sure been quiet here for some time... hope everyone's doing well and had a nice
holiday.
I'm interested in perhaps having us all chat here, more than just post random
stuff. ...however, random is in my blood...
"A sickness known as hate; not a virus, not a microbe, not a germ, but a
sickness nonetheless; highly contagious, deadly in its effects. Don't look for
it in the Twilight Zone. Look for it in a mirror. Look for it before the light
goes out altogether."
"He puzzled and puzzed 'till his puzzler was sore,
then The Grinch thought of something he hadn't before:
'Maybe Christmas' he thought 'doesn't come from a store;
maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more'."

The Simpsons.
"Whenever life gets you down, Mrs Brown, and things seem hard or tough,
And people are stupid, obnoxious, or daft, and you feel that you've had quite
eno-huh-huh-huh-huh-hoooooooough.
Just re-member that you're standing on a planet that's evolving, revolving at
900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 19 miles a second, so it's reckoned, a Sun, that is the source
of all our power.
The Sun, and you and me, and all the stars that you can see, are moving at a
million miles a day
In the outer-spiral arm, at 40,000 miles an hour, of the Galaxy we call
"The Milky Way".
Our Galaxy itself contains a hundred-billion stars, it's a hundred thousand
light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, 16,000 light years thick, but out by us, it's just
3,000 light years wide.
We're 30,000 light years from Galactic Central Point, we go round every 200
million years,
And our Galaxy is only one of millions of billions in this amazing and
expanding universe!
[Small Instrumental]
The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding in all of the directions
it can whizz,
As fast as it can go, the speed of light, you know, 12 million miles a minute
and that's the fastest speed there is,
So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure, how amazingly unlikely
is your birth
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space, 'cause there's
bugger all down here on Earth!"
"Hello darkness, my old friend. I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping.
And the vision that was planted in my brain, still remains... within the sound
of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone of narrow streets of cobblestone.
'Neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light, that split the night...
and touched the sound of silence.
And in the naked light I saw, ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking, people hearing without listening,
people writing songs that voices never share, and no one deared disturb the
sound of silence.
"Fools" said I,"You do not know, silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you, take my arms that I might reach
you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell, and echoed in the wells of
silence.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon 'god' they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning, in the words that it was forming.
And the signs said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway
walls, and tenement halls." ...and whisper'd in the sounds of
silence."
~Simon and Garfunkel~
...I can't help but love that song, very sad and moving...
"There are three basic types: the Wills, the Won'ts, and the Can'ts. The
Wills accomplish everything, the Won'ts oppose everything, and the Can'ts won't
try anything."
Wow... it got quiet here. I hope everyone is doing well. Miss you guys... I'm
sorry I haven't been around as often. I can't seem to find more than 5 minutes
here or there to type.
Drop me a line sometime and let me know how you all are doing, I'll do my best
to guestbook tag you back asap.
"The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions
and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices,
to be found only in the minds of men. For the record: prejudices can kill, and
suspicion can destroy, and the thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat
has a fallout all of its own, for the children and the children yet
unborn."
What is so great about discovery? It is a violent, penetrative act that scars
what it explores. What you call discovery, I call the rape of the natural
world.
