it that gets confusing. Talking about the genoming process of the Escheria coli
and stuff...like one whole scientific journal was about how genetic mutations
led to macroevolutionary changes. They discussed these...Hox genes, specifically
Ubx gene, which are supposedly some sort of master switches that turn other
genes on and off during the embryonic development of all animals. They then went
on an on about how the Ubx gene restrains all of the limb development in the
thorax of fruit flies, but it restrains only 15% in that of the brine shrimp
Artemia. And that change that occurred in Ubx caused the crustacean-like ancient
relatives of Artemia to lose their rear limbs, giving insects their six legs.
Yes yes, it's fascinating indeed, but...it's too much mental work for me. T-T
really...theres too much information and its difficult to follow the procedures
when half the terms i dont understand.
