Quote by ProgramZEROYeah, I've been thinking about buying a bible... Actually, I'd like to buy the Quran(?) since... Doesn't it have the Old Testament, New Testament, and some other part? Not sure what it's called...

Its got parts of (little)New and (mostly)Old Testaments and some other stories too. I can't remember what its called though... Pillars of Faith are in there I think. It almost reads like an order of worship. I got an online copy from bookyards.com. Its free and they have quite a few books there. They have Mien Kampf, 1984, to Art of War. All are interesting and free.

Cubing... I never was able to finish mine.

Edit: I looked and the Pillars of Faith aren't there that I saw, but they're easily found on the intenet. I just remembered that they were important.

Hehe.

Quote: ...Huh?

Umm... about 3-4 years ago some people that I know started cubing in our school, and I too started cubing. (Rubik's cube) its sort of a hobby.

Current time is around 20~ seconds average. And the person thats trying to convert is around 45 seconds last known.

Quote by yothsothgothI think those little ones are only the new testament of the Bible.

Just the New Testamnt, huh? In that case, I don't at all regret it. I'm a completist =P.

...Huh?

Reason why I said a pair of "ego" heads is that they always want to be right... -.-... and seriously, one person, he sucks up to me because of my time for Rubik's cubes... seriously. Its annoying.

Welcome to the group. I'm glad you decided to join us and I hope you enjoy it here. :)

BTW: I think those little ones are only the new testament of the Bible.

yo. whatsup. new to the group.

Somewhat related: Some guy on campus has been handing out pocket bibles the past couple of days. I regret not taking one..

Its built into the religion itself, that's why people still keep at it. Also, if you believed that others who didn't believe like you were going to suffer, then you would probably want to convert them too to spare them from the fate that you believe that was in store for them.

For the most part, people who do that mean well. Not always, but I think most of them really mean well. I'm sure it can be frustrating and even annoying after awhile though with neither side of the conversation wanting to change from what they have now (religiously/nonreligiously speaking).

Quote by DarkRoseofHellSpeaking of which, theres a pair of ego heads walking around trying to convert people to Christianity... in... the worse possible manner... sheesh... well... more like in an annoying manner...

One of them did this for a long time...so yeah...

I wonder why they still try though...

...I guess I didn't get all of that...
...no worries imconfused... think about it and get back to me. ;)

Here's one of my "mottos" to help you think: "I help those who cannot help themselves."
I'd like to become a wildlife rehabilitator, or one of those people who take care of animals in the sanctuaries. I've also assisted with my disabled father and grandfather. So, its kind of a "labor of love" that I've been experiencing for some time. It helps me get by though. Quality of life, is more important than quantity... for everyone and everything. At least, that's my opinion.

confusion ensues, I am now a confucian.
black and white, ying yang etc, evil without good etc.
OH SHI_

Quote: I also found out later that he adopted a child, but was going to make him become a preacher. I thought that was totally wrong. I'd even come up to him and ask him, "what happens if he doesn't want to become one?" The guy gave me a stupid look and said that's what his son was becoming and why would he 'not' want to become one? *sigh* Now, I live in the US. Here for the most part and that I am aware of, you can become whatever you want. Perhaps in other countries and you're in a lower cast system, then you may have to follow in your father's footsteps to make a living. It just ticks me off when people decide for you what you're going to do with your life. >=(

Yeah, my father keeps telling me to start studying something for a living AFTER I've already decided on something else. I appreciated his concern but I told him that I had it covered and what I am studying I have no doubts about.

yEAh!
HEY HEY, CAN I JOIN?
