Here I am again!

Salma...without trying, you have absolutely beaten my rant. Haha. I was joking about the blood. I mean, I have accidentally tasted it before ( I chewed my lip once or twice when I was rather worried), but nah, it doesn't really taste good. It's okay at first, kind of salty but then not long after, it leaves a kind of dirty feel in the mouth. Anyway, let's leave off that topic. ^.^ Gosh, you do like your food spicy, don't you? I am a poor Malaysian in that sense; we are supposed to have very hardy taste-buds and take spicy spicy things like laksa and curry and rendang as well as odd stuff like belacan and durian and otak-otak(don't ask me what this is; I'm not pratically sure...). But I can only take it if it's really mild...-_- . I've heard of Dreaming Place...what is it really about?

Aali...you didn't notice it was Malay? It's that song, Bintang that is Malay. Bintang means star, just so you know. I didn't really listen to most of the lyrics; I rarely do for Malay songs. But I could hear her singing a chorus line that roughly translates to something like : "Up in the sky, shining stars..." I like your calender by the way. And You often seem to be coming in right before eating. Haha.

I do so like reading fantasy! A lot of what I have are fantasy books. I read Diana Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, Terry Brooks, Eoin Colfer, Trudi Carnavan, Phillip Pullman, plus a few more that I can't remember right now. And that's just for fantasy. I read loads of other books too of different genres... some of them are a bit weird though...the plot and story kind of drift around with not much purpose but in a very beautiful way, get what I mean? Ever read old Western Literature like say, Ambrose Pierce and O. Henry? I pick those up for interesting and short reads...can get a bit too intelllectual for most of my friends though... I read some classics too, one of my favourites being 'the picture of dorian gray'. Have you read it before?

I've read half of Twilight before. I didn't get to buy it. T.T But my opinion so far is this; I like the characters (Bella, Eric) and I find it a very curious sort of story but somehow, the romance that blooms between them just doesn't seem for real...it feels a bit too fantastic. But then again, I didn't finish the book right? So maybe there's more.

I wanted to read Tithe! However, I searched 3 bookstores in town and 1 library and still haven't found it! *wails* Frustration drives me to do abnormal things; like wailing. I google-searched it and found out that Holly Black also wrote Spiderwick. And read Tithe's prologue. So I know it's probably a good read..but I haven't even caught sight of it! Predictably there were lots of Spiderwick about as the movie just came out. And I managed to find Valiant at 1 bookstore. But no Tithe. T.T no online book either.

Well, anyway, I finally used up my book voucher yesterday. It was for my birthday. After a lot of looking around the shop, I got Haruki Murakami's 'Wind-up Bird Chronicle' which came with a free copy of Alice in Wonderland AND Through the Looking-Glass, complete with illustrations. All originally the price of one further reduced to the price of a thin paperback. It ought to be a good bargain but...I wish I had found Tithe. Or at least that modern version of Alice in Wonderland, 'Looking Glass Wars'. No such luck. Well, Wind-up Bird is an interesting read but at some points I can see it was definitely not meant for youths... but it has that strange, quirky yet attractive Japanese style so I will sit through those 607 pages...and hope the ending is worth it.

Obviously, everyone's got vampires in their mind. No one paid attention to Tsubasa. Haha. Okay okay, who do I think Yuuki should be with? Well, weighing the pros and cons of each character... First, Kaname; reading through chapter 11, my heart kind of melted. It's apparent that once upon a time, he could keep an open face and heart for Yuuki..and it was gratifying to see him burst into laughter. Abel, I mean, the chairman's antics or 'tactics' were way obvious...but I have the feeling it all runs deeper than what it seems. Anyway, back to Kaname; I think if he stayed the way he had been, I might not have hated him so...but it looks like after Zero came along, complications followed and it is turning him into a cold calculating person who instinctively clings to Yuuki in desperation as the only thing that remains of his past self...but I could be wrong. I'm just speculating. He does seem to care for her...but can he be ready to give up it all for her? Actually, he probably could but with dire consequences and everybody getting hurt some way, somehow...

Zero; in his first entry, he was a protector of Yuuki. And it seems that he remained so so far, albeit not always obvious and that Yuuki got herself in trouble in such ways, it was impossible to do so (Eg. runs to Zero after being told not to, hence getting her blood sucked...). Zero is usually cold and unforgiving but we know he cares for Yuuki. Just that it's against his nature to show it much...which could make for a rather painful relationship, even without Zero having to suffer his gradual mutation and Yuuki acting as his food source.

So, hard decision if you want me to answer seriously. I would almost say that if Yuuki wants love forever, she really cannot depend on either; Zero becoming a savage and Kaname possibly bounded by duty and his own dark self for near eternity... But just off my head, looking at personality and not the circumstances? well...sorry Aali, Kaname wins. Though if this runs the course lots of fantasy books go, it's gonna be death for one of them, some occurence that distants them emotionally or well...just not so perfect. But if Kaname was free from his pure-bloodness, yes he probably makes a better boyfriend for Yuuki. Sorry.... but Zero playing hard to get is not a good tactic for him...

I think blood tastes horrible. its kinda frightening to think that there are people in this world who think it tastes good. its too metallicy for me. and i dont like metallicy...i like spicy. yep, im just so down to earth. sweet stuff are too...heavenlyish ish or too im-dwelling-in-the-clouds type. and salty is okay but only with spice because for me salt is like the ocean and the ocean is scary. i mean, its gorgeous, but i could never swim in one because im super claustrophobic. and bitter is just...bitter. its like underground, like death, like the cemeteries (which are beautiful, but too gloomy for my liking). and spice is just perfect! and ehe, i read everything. i read classics once upon a time. i used to love them, but thennnn i was introduced to actual fantasy through aali-mo. sooo i was introduced to it for real but i never actually read read it a lot in my free time. i jsut read classics, like dickens, alcott, dostoevsky, shelley, bronte sisters, etc. i also love nonfiction, like reading science journals and articles and stuff. i LOVE fantasy now...a few days ago, i read this book called The Dreaming Place and that was a good book and like this morning, i just finished a book from the Midnighters series called "The Secret Hour" and i also love realistic fiction. i also just finished another book, called Blind Faith (tashie, thats the book i told you to read when you came over, so GET IT!). I LOVED IT! IT WAS SO SAD! and cute!

and the fairies club is everything! IT has the kawaii type type and the dark and si nister type type and every type so you could talk about them and its just really cool! we should have a contest once th group gets active again...

i sound like some possesive crazy fangirl...which i am when it comes to kaname. i was fangirling all over him when me and my friend were sitting during study hall with volume three (even though i already read it, she didn't, and shes got the cutest voice so it sounded so adorable when she read yuukis parts). so yeah...my other friend got sorta pissed off because she was like "could you PLEASE stop fangirling in my ear!" even though i was a few rows behind her. thats the best part of fangirling; it annoys people, specifically those dark and emo-like friends of yours.

Hi all! It's holidays for you guys right? Good Friday for me just ended a few hours ago. ...

Vampire Knight is getting a bit more intriguing...I've just finished chapter 11. Characters seem to be drawn with a bit more detail now too, especially for **POSSIBLE SPOILER** Zero's sensei, Ruka and Ichijou's grandfather. I wonder how the vampire Elders will react if they find out about KanameXYuuko's relationship... I said I don't like Kaname but with the manga going along like that, I cannot help but see more in his character...that little picture of young Yuuko hugging him...I couldn't help but feel "aww...". "" Where is my resolve... Well, Yuuko's blood must be pretty tasty. Aidou wants it, Zero lives because of it and Kaname, I suspect, yearns for it. The way he rejects blood from most of the other Night Class students, and the fact that I have a feeling he took a 'sampling of Yuuko' during the party (or why did she heal so fast?); rather ill-bidding. But wait, Kaname doesn't seem to find it hard to swipe at Aidou and drink his blood.. no wonder Aidou is so darn protective; he is so honoured, he fancies him. :P The vampires seem to be obsessed on getting Kaname's favour... cold Ruka even cried! Ichijou was unexpectedly funny though, almost Ouran-worthy humour. Haha. Poor Zero... I read somewhere that his fate will be postponed with a little help but...darn it, it still is not fair. Imagine, becoming the thing you loathe and not only that, its lowliest form. If vampires really do create a sort of bond with the ones they take blood from, well, that means he and Yuuko will be getting closer than before...which means it will be harder for him...gah, why is the whole thing against him?! I mean, by no means is he my favourite chara (not yet anyway), but this is way overkill.

I've been sampling a bit myself... but on anime, not blood. Though blood doesn't taste all that bad; teeth could get pretty stained though...Why are you looking at me like that? You didn't actually believe me...did you? I was just joking! Or was I? :P Anyway, I've watched 1st episode of Getbackers, 1st epi of Roses of Versailles, 3 epis of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations OVA and am trying to find somewhere to read the original Trinity Blood manga. Why vampires again? Nah, it's just that the anime just didn't fulfill and everyone says the manga is so much better...

Okay, let's talk about Tsubasa. ^.^ Well, I.G. Production does a much better job than Bee Train all right. One thing I like about the movies and the 1st OVA epi was that I could sort of see glimpses of Blood+'s Saya and Kai in Sakura, Shaoran and Kurogane while Fai gave out a slightly Solomon-like air. Anyway, the OVA definitely was more intense compared to fluffy Bee Train's. The animation was fluid (though not completely saved from the usual mistakes), the soundtrack suited it completely this time and no hiding from blood.

I don't feel like outlining the whole arc...but here's what I thought. In episode 2, the pace became really fast. Everything passed along in tight sequences so right after an intense fight or something, there's no rest but another scene to go. I was surprised by it. I thought it was going to be bad but nope. Kamui was terribly merciless with his 'prey' but so tender to Subaru. Surprise, surprise...for me at least. Fai breaks his own rules. Kurogane doesn't get to fight at all even though he has been casted as the 'warrior' in almost every episode in the anime. The scene when all the water rose into a whirlpool, when the real Shaoran nearly wins but is halted by Sakura, when Sakura holds on to her consciousness to try and persuade the clone to stay, failing that but getting an actual human reaction, then Subaru emerges...all very intense and done well.

Episode 3: Fai is vampire-ed. Kamui did the scene that got so many fangirls squealing ("I will give my blood! I won't let Subaru give blood to anyone ever again.." *hinting Suneohair, I supposed). Not just Fai but Sakura undergo a hard trial. It was seriously painful seeing Sakura getting all beaten and wounded and having to fight for her life for a guy that is dedicated to coldly use her as a vessel. When her foot got stuck and she reached for the gun; for a moment, I wondered if she would shoot off her foot to get free. It was that dramatic. Watching her fall on her bad foot...ouch! She's going to be lame, oh no. And then she still has heart enough to be concerned for Fai. Good grief, she is so not for real. Cardcaptor showing up was a bit ehh? though. But I presume it's the feather's doing... I wonder.

Well, I.G. production wins hands-down for Clamp animation. But I do wonder, why have I mentioned so much vampire-related stuff?! Kamui and Subaru, Blood+, Trinity Blood, Vampire Knights... . It's their season I supposed.

What a long rant.

I read fantasy too, Salma, you know that... what other that Tithe have you read? And anything else besides fantasy?

Well, here I am again! ^.^

I am glad Salma likes my description...I thinks it still needs polishing myself but anyway! The french song sounds kind of cool, very lyrical.

I've started reading Vampire Knight and I have a pretty mixed view of it. Firstly, when it started, it did give that creepy atmosphere I expected. Then, it moved on to the school and I was like thinking "Ouran mix Trinity Blood" "" Okay anyone who hasn't read Vampire Knight and doesn't want any surprises spoiled, look away until the next two paragraph. It was kind of funny seeing Yuki having to struggle with all those fangirls; I was not expecting that at all. And the Night Class did make a dramatic entry. But all the classiness made me think Ouran and the fact that the chairman and Yuuki both look quite similar to Trinity Blood's Esther and Abel doesn't exactly help... Esther always called Abel 'Father' cos he was a priest but they actually kind of had attraction between them...So now, seeing Esther's look-a-like REALLY considering 'Abel' as her father...*shudder* it was a bit creepy seeing them like that. And the chairman acts a lot like Abel too. but I'm used to it already. Thankfully. Then there is Kaname...I know he's a good looker, definitely a charmer, polite, acts sort of caring towards Yuuki but I could NOT like him. He acts so possessive of Yuuki but he doesn't do anything to really assure her that he loves her and instead kinds of teases her around subtly. What kind of guy does that?! Oh I know; the bad boyfriend. Of course, you could say he's not human... he doesn't know what to do. Well, how about the fact that he 'tempted' Zero with blood during the party? That seems rather sinister...

But, on the upside, the art is more or less consistently skillfully drawn, with wonderful lines, textures and movement. I do like some of the sceneries and lighting. There seems to be a baroque feel with Yuuki's jewelery. And the paneling style is done well as it progresses, adding the right suspenseful touch... aik, who looks at paneling?! Anyway, Zero's character seems to be progressing along and Yuuki is proving to be a stronger person than expected. Though the 'oops! I'm bleeding' occurrence really shouldn't have been repeated so many times...and I am only up to chapter 9! The vampires are also slowly revealing their nature and the vampire hunters have made their appearance. Mystery, mystery...questions are arising... :P On a side note, do you think Aidou is more attracted to Yuuki (sweet blood and all) or to Kaname ("what does Kaname see in Yuuki?..." and "Zero dares point the gun at Kaname...if it wasn't for the peace treaty, I would tear him to shreds..") ? :P I liked those notes the artist wrote at the side too..so darn funny and lively! Drawing Zero's and Kaname's hands from her own...she sure made it a fun read.

Wow, that was long! I was going to talk about the two episodes of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations I just watched yesterday but...nah.. If I go on any further, I might push a lot of the comments to the back...

Well, I have started vectoring! It's all thanks to xAnime4Lifex and the advice he has been giving me as well as chloe-chan's tutorial that he passed to me! I'm vectoring Maria-sama ga Miteru's Shimako and her 'big sister' (I have forgotten her name) from one of my own drawings. Wish me luck!

oh and as for the french poem, its actually a song called "ce silence" by natasha st. pier. it's a really nice song...i dont know what part i wrote down. but heres part of the lyrics; please dont mind if i dont get the translations 100% correct. some of the words are hard to understand, and the structure of the lines are weirdish ish:

zel: oh yeah, and i do consider the night as my domain. even though i love the daytime because i get sunlight to growwwwwwww, i love the night too...sometimes it rains at night and i get the nice nutrients in my soil properly absorbed for my tiny roots...i like to spend the night contemplating on the beauties of my life...and sometimes on the horridness of humans. mais je ne sais pas...i dont really consider myself to be...nocturnal. even though i go to sleep really late for me (around 4 am), i dont sleep during the day.

Thanks for that! I'm glad to hear from you again. So summer break is closing in for everyone huh! I still have to get through some of my art work. But I guess you could call where I am a vacation. But the schools in my district I'm not sure they release so early. Usually it's June and for some of the public schools, July. And then they go back in September. It's really lame. :0
