Gotta love the noise. Actually, I got home from work a couple hrs ago, started on the doujinshi wall thing as a way to relax. besides, I tend to be a man of few words, believe it or not. That quiet joker who sits back and then makes the profound\stupid statements, y`know the type ;0

HeLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLooo!!!!!

Nobody's around...??

HaHaHa! This is the most greatest and best group ever!!! Why??

Cos the group title match with the realistic....

Nobodies around... and i'm underappreciated!!!!!! (hehehe~! juz make some noise fro the group!)
Long Live Underappreciated Group!!!!!

well I think that 50 layers is exaggerating a bit...but a great wall does require more than 10, my last wall took over 20 layers...

i think so too... but since my computer likes freezing, i usually merge my layers every now then so i end up with around 10...
and kuroimisa-san... what is happening with the doujinshi competition thing?

Lol... I have no idea.. ! If you go to past entries of this group's guestbook, you'll find that there is an entry from chaznablemurorei (I hope I got that right... I can never remember it properly >.<) and she said that she'd get back to us and pass us the links this week... but she hasn't... :/

Quote by INFORMATION -Ok, basically she was going to pass over the links sometime during this week... asofar... nothing has happened, but I'm sure that it'll come ^_^
- There is NO TIME limit on the wallpapers. You can take as long as you like.
- You select TWO of the doujinshi entries you wish to use. You may pick more if you want.
- When you are done with the wallpapers, you submit it under other wallpapers and there is a special category called minitokyo something OR other... well... that's not what it's called... but you get the idea... started with Minitokyo... and I think there was the word category in there somewhere... dunno... lemme check... ok, minitokyo character class.

Hope that answers your question ^_^
Of course, if you have any serious enquiries, do ask charaznablemorurei... she would most likely be more than happy to clarify anything that we don't know thoroughly ^_^

101% agree!!! (i think above mentioned had answer my curios in "why
people used more than 50 layers...") Over effect makes my eyes dizzy
too, somehow i prefer simple wallie more than a candy house... that's
what wallie should be! else where should i put my icons...???</font></font>

From what I've seen though... they are mostly well... not &quot;bright&quot;... but rather &quot;shiny&quot;... like... how do you say it? The colours may be soft, yet hard on the eye... if you ask me, it's like looking at a slab of marble... you know what I mean? Even with a washed out colour, they always manage to make it harder on the eye somehow...
And I read somewhere someone used 60-70 layers...
And generally the scan and the colours are quite bold so the thumbnail looks bold as well...
And I think of lots and lots of stars... or magical swirls... you get the idea...
&gt;.&lt; That's my analysis so far... there are many different types but.

The first type obviously is the super shiny cute chick with a swirly looking sparkly background.
The second type is the bold yet soft coloured wall... with a high quality scan... and upon first glance it looks quite simple; you look closer and you see other brushes like goodies at the bottom of a candy bag...
The third type is the non shiny wall but a scenic one with a chick on it. &gt;.&lt;

Ayeayeaye... ^_^'

Quote by TeryonI had this idea while at work..basically I could sit down and perform an analysis of the top-rated walls around here, see what common factors are there for them; what characters\series, background effects, quality factors, ratio of simplicity to complexity, modifications made, number of friends the person has..
It could give us a clue. Opinions?

That's a really good idea ^_^

PS Teryon-- check out the new applied member. My only criticism of the applicant is that he hasn't actually submitted any works.

Quote by kakitsubatai only go up to 25 at the most... or else my computer will freeze...

So do mine...

i only go up to 25 at the most... or else my computer will freeze...

Well personally *I* think 50 or 60 layers is excessive, but it depends on how they do it. They might be at the end of the process Im getting into of putting absolutely every change on a new layer. Its for control and such. Ive gone up to 60 a few times, usually 25-30.

As far as tutorials go..I started with `em, but Ive moved on because basically I know the skills behind `em and can play around. So mebbe hitting that point is when the uber-layer list begins..I dunno.

Hmmm~~~ Recently i wonder.......???

A lot of people saying that they used over 50-60 layers of processing a wallie... Are they really used that much???

^_^' ^_^' ^_^' may be i'm juz too lazy making these layers for a effects... bcos i think it juz need not more than 5 layers... (according to the effects i learn from tutotials...)

May be this is the reason why i always get underated~~~~^_^'

p/s: above mentioned juz my dumb opinions, no offence...

It'd be great if everyone started reviewing each others' wallpapers... that way we can get a lot of feedback... no use sitting here and waiting for passerbys to evaluate work... they're just not gonna do it... so please guys, if you have the time, browse through galleries. You don't have to go and evaluate everything in the gallery... pick maybe the most recent 10 or so.... T.T This is getting so frustrating... but anyways... that's all from me now ^.^

Hi there, I'm new member so nice to meet you all :)
i see some of the members here are someone I already know ^^

Minna, I would like to immensely thank you for accepting the invitation to make wallpaper out of the winning doujinshi of the almost-concluded MT Character Classes Contest Trilogy! (link here: http://forum.minitokyo.net/showthread/15983/ ) And I am so sorry if I'm kinda slow on responding; I'm also following up on other MT wallpaper artistes who were invited also to the event (and that so-called thing called 'real life' hinders me from indulging in my virtual happiness, lol...)

May I present you with some news and "guidelines" of sorts for the event?

(1) Names of representative wallers of your group (namely, Teryon, kakitsubata & sharinganknight), along with other invited MT wallpaper artists, will be featured on the MT News Article that is expected to be coming out sometime around the second week of May. I do hope this little incentive tickles your fancy. ^_~

(2) Each waller may select two (2) winning doujinshi (one from the line art category winners, one from the colored category) you wish to wall.

i will be sending kuroimisa and Teryon the list of the winning doujinshi sometime next week! Promise!

If you, by any chance, have become so fanatically engrossed with this endeavor, you may pick more than 2 doujinshi to wall! ^_^

(3) Please do take your time concocting the wallpapers -- absolutely no deadline or time limit is imposed. But I do hope that you will have fun (and even a challenging time!) making them! You may drop me a line if you are done.

Please submit your crafted creations in the special gallery directory/category under "Wallpapers-->Other--->Minitokyo Character Class".

(4) ... and it seems that more than three (3) members of your group are engrossed in walling the winning entries... I am so stunned! Thank you for the support!

As such, you may select more than 3 people from your group to take part! Please send me the names of your members who wish to take part, too!

i would be more than happy to promote the art that you will be making for the MT Character Classes contest around the various sections of MT! Your work will be among the few MT wallpapers that actually seek merging MT doujinshi artists' and wallpaper artists' visions -- truly rare and refreshing!

Again, this person is so joyous that you actually took the time to read this horrible piece (and in this land of images, words seem to be sacrilegous things...). Thank you so much, and thank you for supporting doujinshi, and for supporting avant-garde ways of wallpaper making! ^^

(Oh, and just drop me a line for any other questions, if this post is kinda unclear. Thank you again!)

Welp, ONE idea occured to me when it comes to why we dont get favs per se. Aside from not constantly using pretty girls, I dont think many of us really follow the normal trends. Like right now FMA is hot. Making walls of whatever we feel like may screw us, while preserving artistic integrity. Boy, dont that suck.

the doujinshi thing... does that mean i have to draw my own chara? o____O" [honestly can't draw]

and kuromisa-san! thx so much for the comments on my wallies... helped a lot! and sure, call me kaki. ^______^

edit::sure i'll join! but am i being thick here? ...where are the winning entries? x___X and that lovecalculator thing's really funny... never thought of that...

So what is this about the doujin contest ? When is deadline ?

All Doujinshi Contest winners post an entry here accepting or declining the job of creating wallpapers for the competition

It's only a way of making sure that you people have fully understood the notification.

Any queries, feel free to post here or contact admin.

Boy, THAT sounds familiar. Im not a big fan of doin anything useful either ;0 Work goes against the grain. Course, I basically define work as anything I *have* to do whether I want to or not, or somethin im not enjoying. Enjoyable activities..now thats just fun.

Course today, 5-3-05, I just feel...slug-like, I suppose. Slow and dont want to do much of anything at ALL. Weird, I normally dont feel this way quite so thoroughly and badly.

I generally try to... it's hard when people aren't on your friends list though -__- I'll get around evaluating stuff soon... right now, I feel that I'm doing absolutely nothing and this is so dumb >.< (I'm really meant to be studying, I don't wanna fail and instead I stay online all day and I don't actually like do anything useful @.@) I think I'll go around doing that now ^_^;

Yeah, Ive noticed the same thing Kaki(hope ye dont mind the shortened form). And while they are nice to look at and all, surely there`s other ways to do it. Heck, Ive noticed the most common form of thing for a mech suit is some random chaotic mutlticolored swirly background. Yeah, I did one of those, but at least Ive tried to do other things with `em. And yes, Im a mech nut ;)

tareren`s actually got an interestin idea. Ive been doing that off and on during late-nights while roleplaying with some friends on IRC. While I wait for them, I just randomly patrol minitokyo and see whats out there.

agreed with kaki-san, more frens means more people will know you and more will be updated whenever you submit a wall.....anyway, i really think maybe we should go to each other gallery and comment on every wall, such as what to improve and all... what do you guys think ?

edit: yeah ramchong, my walls too been downloaded but low faves....

lol...can't believe i fit the criteria... just proves how underappreciated i am... ^^" so? what should we do?

i have this theory... that the more friends you have, the more favs you get, coz the more ppl know you actually exist... correct?

and one question: why is everybody so keen on wallies with pretty girls and planets in the bg? i think i've said this here before... but i need some feedback... anybody feel the same way as me? [please note i'm NOT angry here... just confuzzled...]
