URL
seems to ask for a login when no other page seems to need it. ...It
makes me wonder if someone is collecting uid/pass combinations. ...I
don'thave any real reason to believe it, but it'd be nice if someone
would check it out.
That problem doesn't seem to apply to me. I'm on firefox, btw. Maybe other
members should take a look?
As for the first problem, concerning the explicit photographs, certainly I think
a much more stringent standard must be put in place and enforced. The other day
I saw for the first time an account closed by parental request. While I cannot
assume that it was due to the explicit nature of certain images, we can't rule
it out either.
I think certain members are pushing the no pornography rule to the limits with
their submissions. In certain cases, the lack of total nudity doesn't really
distinguish an image from full scale pornography due to the suggestive poses. I
personally think all such scans, photos, doujins, etc, should be removed. There
are young eyes in the MT community, after all.
As for MT3, I really don't quite know what policy changes there may be, if any.
Too bad shinsengumi's away.

OK another art gallery question. This user, http://pikapika28.minitokyo.net/,
has posted some 12 pages of photographs, of women in more or less suggestive
positions. ....Some of them seem a little over the top. I know that they don't
show any genitals nor nipples... ...But this seems to be a little excessive
imho.
So. ...Seeing that there really isn't a rule against this, are there new rules
in the making that might affect this? ...If you need another warm body to slice
through the galleries looking to eliminate scum, I'll volunteer some time.
...And I'll stick to the rules. ...It would be nice though if the rules
encompassed this well... ...smut.
Who turned out the lights? Where did everyone go? Nah,
just joshing you guys! I've been a bit lazy in the galleries lately, so I might
go there to help out eventually. As for right now, I will assess the forums for
any duplicates and any inappropriate posts or threads.
Quote by Archer79If someone is
submitting art scanned from the US comic book industry, should we be submitting
reports? For example, here http://rocksy.minitokyo.net/ ... This
user is
submitting work from a publisher called Image Comics, which is located in the
us...
In general, I think submitting parts of a domestically lisenced work is ok (like
a cover scan). However, posting an image without proper credit (or at least a
description) isn't cool. There's some semblence of a credit/description, but it
could probably be elaborated on.
I should come back here more often. I will follow the new guidelines for the
reports from now one. I'm just sorry I didn't notice this sooner and for the
mods who have to go through my long winded reports.
As for this new group, they do have some valid points and it is nice to have
open discussion for change.
Aa-chan, yes, it has happened before, but I'm not going to become involved with
that group. The discussions are okay to have, but however, instead of handling
the situation behind the scenes and contacting a moderator and asking for
suggestions, they're publicizing their plans and causing other members to avoid
that specific group of members for what they're doing. In my opinion, it's
rather immature to publicize a revolution of that sort.
http://groups.minitokyo.net/mt-revolution/
- I can see why this group looks like a good idea, but I get the feeling this
sort of thing is done a little too much. Everyone trying to take control and
sort the community out.
Not saying it's a bad idea, just slightly dubious. Also, it's a potential
candidate for affiliation.
Quote by unicorn2006So I know MT
policy states that everything be submitted in English except in guestbooks and
private messages. What do I do if I see wallpapers/scans/doujinshi with
non-English titles or descriptions? Just suggest to them that they use English?
Or does it warrant a report?
It's a good question. . . I've
personally seen both, so on this one, it's really up to
you.
Well I guess it also depends on what the mods would do in response to these
non-English reports. Would they go so far as to delete the submission? Or I
dunno.. give warnings? Something only a mod could do.. But if they're going to
tell the member to rewrite everything in English, there's no real point in
reporting - I might as well just quote the MT policy and tell them myself
instead of burdening the mods, you know?

Quote by shinsengumiWelcome to the Minitokyo Forums!
The Minitokyo community offers a place where people of disparate backgrounds and
from diverse locations are brought together by common interests. Here in the
forums, members have an opportunity to be able to bring their individual
experiences into conversations and discussions on issues pertaining to those
common interests, and therefore individual threads should take advantage of the
diversity here and work to create dialogues that are of benefit to the entire
community.
To this effect, a number of guidelines have been established in order to help
keep participating in the forums both fun and productive. Overarching Principle
Topics in the forum should be actual discussions, and not just a set of
disconnected responses to a poll. Creating New Threads+The Search box is your friend!
Before creating a new thread, do some searches to make sure that an active
thread does not already exist for a particular topic. As many topics have been
discussed before in the forums, it is highly likely that a thread already exists
on any particular topic. +Old and decrepit threads
If a thread has not had any new posts in over four weeks, it can be considered
inactive and a new thread can be opened on the same topic. +Favorites and versus threads
As these threads seldom generate meaningful discussion and are often duplicates
of existing threads, please refrain from creating threads asking for favorite
characters, series, or games as well as threads comparing individual characters,
series, or games. +Miscellany
Quizzes, games, and other fun little topics that aren't quite actual discussions
should graze peacefully in the Spam Lounge. +Farewells
Please do not create new threads to announce absences, whether they be
short-term, long-term, or permanent, and do not create threads when you return
from an absence either. Instead, you can just post an away message on your
userpage stating your reasons and how long you expect to be away. +Advertising**NEW**
Threads and posts should not be made advertising submissions, threads, groups,
or otherwise. Such advertisements should only be made in userpages and
guestbooks. Participating in Threads+Tolerance
When you are in a community with so many people from such diverse backgrounds,
it is inevitable that you will see perspectives expressed that will be different
from your own. Remember that there is more than one way to view any particular
issue, and that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. +Offensive comments
Please try to act in as civil a manner as possible in the threads, and try to
treat your fellow members with respect. Also note that we do have among us a
number of younger members, so please exercise tact while interacting in the
forums. Questions and Concerns
If you feel that a particular post or thread goes contrary to the Minitokyo Policy, FAQ, or the guidelines outlined here,
please use the Report link or the Support Inquiry form to notify
the staff. Please be as detailed as possible; the more detailed you are, the
better we will be able to help you.
Sincerely,shinsengumi, your friendly local forum
moderator
Heyo guys! As you probably know, Minitokyo has been on the slow side lately,
and therefore processing reports has been an extremely arduous and
time-consuming task, because the process requires quite a number of pages to be
loaded for every report (the report itself, the individual post or submission in
question, then the context thread or gallery page, the moderation itself, and
finally closing the report). As a result, when you're reporting threads or
posts, if you could use the following terms to categorize your reports (when
applicable), it would be greatly appreciated.
NON-SUBSTANTIVE CATEGORIES double post: User posted the same post
twice. double thread: User created the same
thread twice. duplicate thread: User created a
duplicate of an existing active thread. If you did not make a post in the
thread linking to an existing open thread, please provide the URL of such a
thread in your report body.
SUBSTANTIVE CATEGORIES
For threads that violate the Policy or Guidelines, please
continue to report as usual by indicating the nature of the rule
violation.
Quote by SilentMasamuneI do not
have the time anymore to post links to duplicate threads, but I will continue to
report them. If I do report a duplicate thread, chances are that a previously
created thread has posts that were made within the 4-week activity
threshold.
There is a 4-week threshold? Where can I find this guideline, and perhaps
others I have missed?
I'm sure there would be, but I thought you said you wanted Gallery Director
approval? Other than mass promoting, only they could do the job.
Having said that, maybe it's unfair to have a select few choose. You'd need
people with open minds about the types of art that come into Minitokyo I guess.
It would be difficult to remove the work containing 'suggestive poses' as it could be down to one's opinion.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! AhhhhhHHHHH!
Ok. ...Hoping he comes back soon.
And (I'm embarrased to say) I was viewing in IE at the time I saw the anomaly.
That problem doesn't seem to apply to me. I'm on firefox, btw. Maybe other members should take a look?

Yes... it's so hard to find good discussion around here these days... ^^;; Ah well... time to go help make MT a better place!
I think discussions are a good thing, I'm just a skeptic ^__^ .

alright shinsengumi, thanks for the head up on the "official MT reporting terminology" lol
though these past 5 minutes, the site seems to suddenly gain a new burst of speed. lol
but anyways, I think a proper set of terminologies for reports is a necessary measure to facilitate forum moderation.
Awesome. Thanks for the info shinsengumi!
