http://img334.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kaze4my.jpg

Hi!!Wow,sugoi!!There are so many people in this group that know a lot from japanese language!!I'm impressed O_O I wish I know that much...But I'm starting university this year in another town and I'll be able to star jap lessons,I hope....
So anyway,let's continue:
Hai - Yes
Hayai - Quick,fast,early
Hayaku - Hurry up!!(hayai's advervial form)
Hen - Strange,weird
Henshin - Physical transformation (like sailor moon ^^)
Hentai - Pervert/perverted.More extreme than ecchi. When a woman insults a man in anime she generally uses:hentai, sukebe and etchi. Sukebe implies "oversexed" rather than deviant. Etchi can be quite mild in some contexts, comparable to "lewd" or "Fresh!"
Hidoi - Severe, harsh. As an exclamation it means "How terrible!" or "That's harsh/cold".A spoken variant is "Hide-e!"
Hime - Princess
Hmitsu - Secret
Ichiban - Best
Ii - Good.An older variant, still current, is Yoi. Yoku is the adverbial form.Yokatta is the familiar past tense that means "That's great!" but is usually translated as "I'm so glad".
Ijiwaru - Teaser
Iku - To go. Common conjugated forms are ikimashou, ikou (shall we go?let's go), ike and ikinasai (Go!,Begone!)
Inochi - Life
Inori - Prayer
Imoutosan/Imoutochan - Youger sister
Itsudemo - Whenever, any time, always
Itai - That hurt!/Ow.. hurt, pain, painful. Can be translated as "Ouch!". A frequent spoken variant is Ite-e!
That's it for now :nya:

:Emerges from cave: Finally! I've found a place where I can learn Japanese! So....Mr.Roboto, may I join your group?

I have a lot of things in my life I do not want to forget, but I don't like prying eyes either.

How's this translation?

'Omoide wa watashi o wasurete ga iramasen.'

Quote by faceofspadesBasically it's someone who's obsessed with a hobby. Not exactly the equivalent of the english "Nerd" like everyone goes around believing.
Jekai.org gives detailed explanations for almost everything that's confusing. It would really help if you know what the japanese part says too =P
here puffy white admin, have fun XD

Lol... spades-san wa omoshiroi desu~ kono namae ("puffy white admin") ga daisuki desu~~ *kyaa* Yonda atode sugu "signature" no naka ni typu-shimashita!!

I feel like something's wrong with the last sentence. Maybe it's because I started mixing up the formal and informals >_< and the sentence just sounds a bit off too. Hmm...

Quote by SonicWindthat is an accurate translation, right?

It is.
Sounds a lot better than "3)". ;)
You guys can trust Moor, he seems to know what he's talking about.

Replying to your earlier post:
"wasurete shimatta" follows the tense of the second word, shimatta (past tense).
To clear up any misconceptions, verbs in their uninflected dictionary form is not the present tense, it's called the non-past form lol. The -Te form + iru/oru is the correct way to write a verb in the present tense.

Being stuck on a sentence for a few days doesn't sound healthy.
If you wanted privacy, you can write it on the computer and password protect your files.
You should work a bit more on grammar b4 taking such a big step.
A while back, i've tried writing my journal in japanese too. Constantly finding myself thinking "eeto, what's that 20-30 letter 15 syllable word i'm trying to remember that means such and such". Back to writing in english, I can keep a more detailed record that way.

Penpal sounds like a great idea! Even better if you can convince one of your RL friends to pickup learning jap. Gl w/ that ;)

hiye minna! hontouni arigatou 4 the posts. Minna daijoubu?
God Bless!

that is an accurate translation, right?

Quote by SonicWind
I've been having problems translating this sentence.
'I have memories I do not want to forget.'

Well you could simply say....

(Watashi wa) wasuretakunai omoide ga arimasu.

For the love of god! Please, someone help me!

I've been studying Japanese lately because I want to use it to write a diary. No one I know seem to be interested in learning it, so it's good that I can keep my life secret.

I've been having problems translating this sentence.

'I have memories I do not want to forget.'

I've come up with possible translations:

1) Watashi wa o wasureru ga hoshii arimasen.

This one sounds wrong.

2) Watashi no kioku ga arimasu, watashi wa o wasureru ga hoshii arimasen.

This sounds even worse.

3) Omoide wa wasuru ga iramasen.

This one sounds better.

What really confuses me is the way the dictionary shows these words. eg. 'o wasureru'
The example is followed by a sentence: 'Kanojo no name o wasurete shimatta.'

I'm aware that the suffix is something to do with tenses, but is the present and past tense version?

When is it necessary to use a comma?

Can someone please help me. I've been stuck with this sentence for days. I've got a book on Japanese, but it doesn't explain enough. I need help!

I'm hoping I can have a penpal to learn with. Perhaps others can benefit from having a penpal.

If anyone of you will be my tutor, I'll be really grateful! Lately, I've been writing my diary in english. I want to put it in Japanese because no one I know is familiar with the language.

Will somebody please tell me what "datte ba yo" means?
Arigato gozaimasu!

Datte ba yo doesnt seem to have a special meaning. If u replace it with "Da/Desu" (is), it would mean the same thing. It's just Naruto's way of adding emphasis to his speech.
It's like how gurlz sometimes add a "Wa" to the end of their sentences.

I too have something I want to ask. Can't think of a better place to look for answers off the top of my head. recently i heard someone in anime say "Yappashi" instead of "Yappari". They were used in similar contexts. And also "Bakashi" in place of what should be "Bakari" (don't tell me it's "bakabakashii", I know what i heard =/) The words ending w/ Shi doesnt seem to pop up in the dictionary. To anyone who might've heard this *nudge nudge, u inactive admins*. can u explain the distinction? if there is one.

One word that I come across a lot on MT but is never sure what it means...

"otaku" wa nan desu-ka??

*didnt understand most of that*

Quote by sacred-angelHiya~~ How is everybody doing??
It's been awhile since I last posted...gomen>_< I returned from
vacations yesterday.
Since I haven't posted lately I'll share more words with you. It's
c,d,e,f,g time :) Chibi - It's supposed to be a deragatory name
for a short person but in anime contex it's when the charas get really
short and kawai ^^
Chikara - Strength, power
Chikusho - An exclamation of frustation equivalent to "Damm!"
Chotto - A little. It can only be used as an adverd. The
adjectival form is chiisai. When exclaimed it means "Hold it" or
"Cut it out!"
Chotto matte - Wait for me!!
Daijoubu - Ok.Also used when charas enquires as to another's
health.
Damare! - Shut up!, Silence!( damaru's imperative form)
Damaru - Be still, silent.
Damasareru - To be tricked (damasu's passive form)
Damasu - To deceive.
Dame - Bad, useless, hopeless, no good. Dame desu or
Dame da - used when refusing permission or indicating that
something is a bad idea.
Dare - Who.
Daredemo - Everyone.
Dareka - Someone.
Daremo - No one.
Demo - But....
Daisuki - Like a lot (is almost aishiteru)
Doko - Where.
Doumo arigatou gozaimasu - Thank you very very much!
Ecchi - Pervert, nudity
Fuzakeru - To play games, fool around. It can also be shaded by
tone of voice to assume a harsher meaning like "screw around"
Gakkou - School.
Gaki - Young, immature person. Also translated as "brat" or
"punk"
Gambaru - Used when encouraging someone, "hang in there", "don't
give up", "do your best", "give it your all". Note: the verb phrase
"shikkari suru" has an overlapping meaning, but slightly
different connotations.Apparently, the later term implies use of innate
abilities as opposed to a conscious act of willpower. The two are
interchangeable, though. The command forms are "gambatte" and
"gambare".
Genki - Energetic, energy
Gomen - Sorry
Gomen nasai - Very very sorry. I'm all tired up :nya: That's it
for now
