well, i know that MT3 is coming up soon, and since I've been in the loop with
the mods and sheq about the features, all I got to say is we may want to wait
until the new version is out, since sheqel is actually modifying the layout of
MT possibly and also doing something really neat with userpage skins in
general... i'm just afraid we'll put alot of time and effort into making a great
page and then it not working/not fitting/etc... I realize it would be an
external outlet so not much would be different in that field, but also skins may
be uploaded on MT for members to download soon, so i'm wondering the
following:
a] would it be a waste of our time?
- You guys rocks, and definately know more about userpage making then I do, and
I'd hate to see it be ineffective with the new system
b] i'm still confused as to what this entails: can someone explain to me what
qwould happen? we'd need a host, and a third party place right? wouldn't that be
difficult to update for members?

Okay, so a CSS stylesheet can be used to define
what everything looks like on a[n] [x]html page (colours, positioning, borders,
text formatting, alignment, backgrounds, etc). imho, most of our CSS code should
be rewriten, mostly so we can have our own page style, but also to help with
other changes I'd like to make (hard to go into details without making it more
complicated).

of the small CMS (content management system) I'm writing up atm is to make it
alot easier to edit pages (using a method
that would be somewhat similar to editing a wiki or blog). by doing that, we
could also minimize the number of errors and mistakes in the HTML code, which is
a nessescity imho.

I am going to design all the new code to be portable across server software so
we can easily change hoster if required.

this last week my server hasnt proved to be reliable or fast, but I've been
working on that, and it shouldnt be so bad.
So, I've been thinking about this, and I think alot of the code needs to be
improved (& rewriten). Heres my plan:
1. Write a small Tcl/Javascript/SQL CMS to organize page data with. It will have
a user system (required so we can impliment permissions), but none of the fancy
features (like that queue system) that I was planning to make up before.
However, I'll leave room for expansion if I have time for that later.
I've just started work on this, and hopefully I'll have a version without the
user system running in the next week.
2. Clean up the HTML code so it isnt broken. (blink tags!?, arhh!)
3. Rewrite the stylesheet and use it to apply our own page theme like I have
done so on blackened-souls. I had
planned to do this long ago and its something we should really do, since we make
themes for other people anyhow. ;-)
4. Work on improve the Javascript used on our page. The tab system has worked
really well, and I'll just add minor improvements, but I'd like to add some more
Javascript to intergrate with the CMS and stylesheet stuff. (Geez, that wasnt a
good explaination...)
Alot of the work of 2, 3 and 4 will done at the same time. *yawn*, long day, and I'm going to get
some sleep now (...he says at 0230)
BTW, I temporarily placed the CSS in a separate external file in my account.

min. simple cloudy background, competible with both 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024
resolution overall ok design didnt find any good scans renders but C&C
anyways.
