dadong: Your slices are funny. Think the slices on the right side has too much
empty space. MT would ignore them on upload I think. Well, I use my own slices.
Its an edit of the original slices made by ecentric. Downloadable here; http://hanashi.org/UserpageTemplate.zip

After looking around the arts forum, I notice a couple of good userpage tutorial

i just want to show you guys a new templet i made. the order of the names isn't
correct and it's kind of confusing to place it in the right order if you get it
right the results are very good. click here
and can i use this templet if i make other people's webpages. i don't know if
they can get the right order or not.

sorry, my server is only a 200mhz/32mb box, and apache
was stressing it out too much, so I stopped it for a little while. I'm going to
replace Apache with lighttpd and then I

welcome! please just hit the apply to group button first
the left? [looks at page] the only problem i see on your page is it crops on the
top [slice #02] ... this is because to fit on the regular browser, MT slices cut
off about an nch on the left and top to compensate. The best way to make sure
your page is aligned is to upload it on a test account or your own and then hit
'print screen' and make a new layer on your skin and line it up with your image,
then use the boxes and such as a guide for making the boxes/writing etc

doing theming the traditional way.

Ok I've done 3 designs so far including my own page, but here's the problem, the

Quote by belmikrySo, after careful
thinking, I'll let you all decided if its in your best interest to do so,
regardless of the possibility that once MT3 comes along, it may not
work.
with a thought like this in mind, I've been thinking
over how to design Jacques carefully. I've decided that until I get a clearer
picture of MT3, I'll put more effort into making it work more as a standalone
page, rather than intregrated inside the Minitokyo page.
Quote by <b><b><b>moonfire</b></b></b><b><b><b>belmikry:
I agree that having downloadable skins IS SUCH A SAD
THING.
Unless the mods agree to work something out between this group, we may
soon be down in the dumps, and fewer and fewer people would consult
us..
nooo! This can't be happening!
Unless we would be the one making the skins and our signatures would be
on the skins.
Oh well... what can we do... belly is just an elite member, and the
rest of us are just ordinary members.. <_<
</b></b></b>
well, all we can do is really make the best of things I guess I mean, I
think the froup can still be intact once the version comes out, because maybe
members are looking for skins that are specific/not whats downloaded at that
point in time.
Thing is, I believe MT3 is in it's beta stage maybe [i have no idea what that
means] but it sounds like its happening in the near future- I don't mind making
these changes we all are discussing, but i'd hate it to become something you all
can't use in a month or so because of the new system. So, after careful
thinking, I'll let you all decided if its in your best interest to do so,
regardless of the possibility that once MT3 comes along, it may not work.
If it doesnt seem to work, but doesnt timeout, thats becuase I'm working on it,
and put a bug into it. If that happens, just try again in 5-10 minutes.
Quote by belmikryall I got to say is we
may want to wait until the new version is out, since sheqel is actually
modifying the layout of MT possibly and also doing something really neat with
userpage skins in general... i'm just afraid we'll put alot of time and effort
into making a great page and then it not working/not
fitting/etc...
what I'm really REALLY afriad of, is that sheqel will change the way we add
HTML content to our pages, either, a: we wont we able to use HTML again, or b:
the html we enter will not be inserted directly into our page, but instead will
be filtered and/or parsed. if either of a or b is the case, it will stop us from doing really cool HTML stuff like the tab
system I made up. thats really a worry to me. :-(
Quote: I realize it would be an
external outlet so not much would be different in that field, but also skins may
be uploaded on MT for members to download soon, so i'm wondering the following:
a] would it be a waste of our time?
This is worring too. You
guys put in so much effort to make a great, unique skin for everyone who asks,
and this "feature" will reduce the number of people who ask for, and
have a unique page. :-(
Quote: b] i'm still confused as to
what this entails: can someone explain to me what qwould happen? we'd need a
host, and a third party place right? wouldn't that be difficult to update for
members?
yeah, we will need a third party host (unless Sheqel
would give us are own hosting for the group here on Minitokyo, that would be
very nice ^^). As long as I get my
Javascript/Tcl/SQL CMS finished (and I promise I will), it will make it easier to edit pages for all members.
Quote: I've had ALOT of members in
this group complain about how advanced the coding is and how hard it is to
edit.
yeah, I know, and I really really want to make it easier, which is what I will do.
Quote: I've had good members leave
because of that very issue. I'd hate to see more leave because of
it...
really? oh man, I really do promise I get this CMS
going.
Quote: secondly, for a page devoted
to making MT userpages, shouldn't our system BE on MT? i'm just curious on your
thoughts about that...
of course, it be great if it was, but
that means that we would need the following:
* our own hosting here on mt
* user accounts for all admins
* SSH access (I can not live with just
ftp)
* Tcl and various Tcl extensions installed on the server
* our own database on mt
* for it to just work, something that
wouldnt happen on DarkAeon's server unforchantly :-/
Quote: would I be able to update on
this page or would I have to go to another site or something? or would it be
simular to the old message board? o_o
I'll explain how I'd
like the CMS to work:
1. User goes to our page, Javascript, stylesheet and Welcome page code loaded
from external server.
2. User clicks tab or link to another section of our page
3. Javascript CMS subsystem request this page from the external server
4. Javascript CMS subsystem receives response back with the HTML data
5. HTML data holding <div> is cleared, and new HTML data received is
inserted into it.
6. If another tab or link to section of our page is clicked, go back to step
3.
This way, it would kind of act like an <iframe> (like what we used for the
forums inside our page), except that the pages wouldnt be trapped inside a box,
it would flow down the page. The HTML data would come from another server, but
it would appear to be like it was loaded from Minitokyo.
Using this CMS, I could code up a user system, and allow pages to be edited like
they were in a Wiki. In fact this CMS is a Wiki in a way.
Oh, and I am calling this CMS "Jacques", which stands for Javascript And tcl Cms for (Q) UsErpageSkindesigns. :-)

here is a screenshot of what Web Developer (Fx plugin) showing outlines on all tables:

the main page layout is shown with red layout. the reason it is getting cutoff, is because the table cells arn't big enough to show all of the tile.

ok I'm getting confused reading all those post @_@
so gimme a summary here.
we want to improve our page right? wanna do it how? making an external page?
to prove I have been working on Jacques, here it is, making no database queries (therfor not returning a real page), in non-embedded mode, with argument debugging switched on:
