I come into Minitokyo after a few days and find that one of my dt designs has

Okay, I'm joking, but it did come as kind of a surprise to find it here. Thanks
for noticing me, I suppose, though I'm a little unused as to what to actually
say... seeing as how I've never had anybody except for people who knew me
outside of this site devote any kind of time to my dt designs.
I guess I'm still in the shock phase.
I'm glad on some wavelength that they've begun to be noticed. I won't pretend
like I'm not. It's simply unexpected... after well over half a year on this site
without being noticed, this kind of attention is strange.
Anyway, some admirable ideas in the foundation of the group, so cheers,
minna.

Well, to be honest, the simplicity that you're looking for doesn't exist. What
we're referring to here as "simple" desktop designs, or wallpapers, is
as complex as any other form of wallpaper can be. The difference doesn't lie in
simplicity or complexity, it lies in content. The difference between a simple
wallpaper and a complicated one is much the same as exists between a beautifully
brief poem, and extraordinarily epic prose. In both cases, the simpler thing
exists to say one thing, to convey a single feeling--to make a definitive
statement that the creator wished to share with an audience. However, both have
very limited space in which to make such a statement, and, as such, the creator
must know exactly what he is doing. He must have a mastery over the tools he is
using. He must, in short, be better at what he's doing than anybody else. That
is the essence of the simplicity you seek.
I would like to vote for pureilluzion's Searching.....
cuz it looks soooo good.......and i totally feel the mood it's giving
off....ahh
it'll my new desktop for awhile. ^_^

OH it's good that the extention has been announced, now I don't have to rush as
I'm 1/3 complete, but the remaining has been thought of and should go pretty
smoothly.
Extending the deadline for round 2 + collab by another three days because of MT
downtime... u_u;; Hopefully that helps. It'll take me a bit of time to get
around to the website, so don't let the old info on there confuse you
^-^;;

Of course I want to give my opinion, and I do want to check em out too. I think
I want some feedback too before I submit so I am all in for that idea.
