Quote by unicorn2006The In-depth
section is simply for any discussion about a particular series. Perhaps the
title is a bit misleading.. but it isn't restricted to deep discussions about
anime/manga. ^^
Despite all that, they still dont even make topics that are even close to what
it should be. I mean topics like "Do you like <insert name
here>" have no indepth discussion whatsoever...The most you can say is
yes, and a bit of a reason why...its not very indepth.

Quote by SoulScholarWe need a rule,
or if we have one, we have to enforce it more, but ummm ALOT of the threads on
the indepth discussions are kind of not so indepth
Threads like that should be mass moved via the moderator's
control panel and considered less serious topics. Unfortunately, there are not
too many topics that are indepth with respect to anime, and I feel that the
forum index description of the indepth discussions forum should be supplemented
with more information about the goal. Moreover, constant maintenance of the
forum may be bad for the members since many of them may complain about their
removed posts if they return to check the progress of the thread. I do not know
what will be implemented, but something should be done about these imprecisions.
Quote by akeedacresthey, merry
christmas to all.. just wondering, i was browsing through te gallery and saw
that this FF-X2 Paine by
Zechs was misplaced into FF12's gallery instead of FF10-2. Well, does this
concern us? anyway, just for the notice.. Haha! Merry Christmas everyone and
have a blessed day!
It's of concern. Just report the gallery item so it could
be moved into the correct category. Remember, Chaos Cross is a group dedicated
to helping keep Minitokyo organized and enforcing improvements. ^_^

My flight's early tomorrow morning, so I want to stop by to say goodbye for now
and wish everyone a very happy holidays.
I have also made a note with other moderators, so if you guys are home and come
on MT, your reports should be processed by one of the other mods, likely
biriwilg. So don't stop reporting!
I want to wish the members of Chaos Cross a Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year! I think I'll get back into the syndicate of reporting and helping out in
the community. Hopefully, this time around, we will be making progress.
Quote by SoulScholarWe should do what
the Pocket house forums did. At the very end of the rules before registering, it
tells the user where the correct link is to register. If you click the wrong
link, it will say a message like "Cheater, read the rules"
that is a good idea actually wonder what Sheqel would think about it.

Spystreak brings up a very important point. Well, two actually. First, it would
not be practical to translate MT into all the major languages and to do some but
not others will simply bring us more complaints. Second, it will divide MT into
MT-English, MT-French, MT-Spanish, MT-Chinese, MT-Portuguese, etc etc. We would
lose the unity that is Minitokyo and that is detrimental to the growth of our
community.
haha a registration test now that's a good idea. Just for the sake of asking
what would it be if it had been implemented true/false, mulitple choice or a
combination of the two.
As for the language barrier not sure what can be done really unless we got
babelfish to translate everything it would be kind of hard to welcome all
non-english speaking cultures. I have seen sites out there where babelfish could
translate the page into whatever language you speak. It's a bit rough in some
respects but the general ideas would be there. A problem I see though is MT
would be divided into a smaller communities. Although it would be great if we
could increase the number of non-english speaking members.
Though testing registering members on MT Policy before completing registration
is a very attractive idea to reduce possible violations, I think a required test
is too draconian a policy. I don't know of any other forum/site that tests
members on forum policy. Some do have a mandatory, non-circumventable
rule-display page on which new members must click "I have read the
Policy" or "I agree" to complete registration, but to actually
require members to pass a test is going too far.
One other major issue is language. We want MT to be an international community
and as such, not all members have an equally firm grasp of the English language.
Add that fact to Shinsengumi's expansive vocabulary, we will have low
non-English speaking member registration due to a language barrier rather than a
disregard for the rules. That's not a limit we want to place on this community.
Just as a quick general note, necromancy in itself is not bad. Bumping your own
thread, however, is. Also, bumping a thread for which a new thread on the same
topic exists, is also bad.
Although this may decline many members from joining, I propose that to join, you
have to pass a quiz/test. Each question has something to do with the rules.
I did that with a few members. AS far as I know they haven't gotten into any
trouble either. Although I don't think any of them actually stayed very long
either
I doubt there would be anything that could be done to ensure that people will
read the rules other then nagging them constantly. If the rules were posted for
members to read before registering they most likely wouldn't read it and just
click the little link that says that you have read the rules and agree to well
you get the point.
I use to go to every new entrant, and tell them about the forum, ripping and
other illegal stuff. Funny thing is, from the people I've told this too, nothing
bad has happened. To my knowledge anyhow.
A central thread needs to be created in the Entrance Lounge and pinned. Some of
the information that is in the Minitokyo v3 Userguide could be repeated in that
thread as a supplement to choosing to
read the policy and FAQ information. Then again, not all members view the forum,
so the policy needs to be made more available to them. Speaking of which, when
each member registers, they should be conflicted with the terms of agreement
before joining the site just to be sure they know what they're getting into.
Lastly, about the rips on the site, I believe that the rules for making
submissions should be addressed in the Submit Gallery Item interface since that
also provides information about each submission.
Does enyone else think one of us should run through the entrance lounge advising
new members to read MT policy and such. It might work and it might not just
throwing out a suggestion.
Quote by Spystreak:sigh: it would seem
that the spam threads are back. Latest creators vinight777 and
Jesushardcore0011. Back to reporting I go :heavy sigh:
I should add the Jesushardcore0011 is new so it is not complete ignorance of MT
policy. Although all members are supposed to
read the rules before posting
I have to cut them some slack there. I mean, to tell the truth, I never read the
rules. I only read it if something bad usually happens, and I learn.
Its a lousy way but ya, look where I am today. I remember pockethouse's forum,
where I read the rules because whenever I clicked the link to register, it said
I was cheating. Then at the very end, it told me to click the blue orb to
sign up.
Haha, good luck with the threads, my friends! I've taken an interest in spotting
gallery items that don't belong, so I've been reporting there as of late even
though it's a little bit at a time. By the way, if you're interested, you may
check out my current situation with Minitokyo on my userpage.
